    After lusting for the blues for years finally picked up 2. In a closed back 2x12 they are everything I had hoped for cleans, light to medium gain and even - brace yourself for sacrilege - metal all powered by a Marshall 1987. A pushed dual KT66 amp is amazing. I am a long time Greenback and EVM12L fan and the blues bring their own warm detailed sound.

    I absolutely am thrilled with the Celestion Alnico Blue speaker that I installed in my Fender Blues Jr amp. The amp with the old speaker sounded boxey and at times lacked clarity. Now the sound is open and clear. The only thing is the speakers bell housing needs to be removed to fit the amp cabinet. If done right, it is an amazing improvement to the Blues Jr. IV.

    I've been very pleased with the upgrade. I have the CC1 that had a wharfdale speaker. I watched a lot of videos comparing the greenback to the Blue, and honestly I liked both of those sounds. But the blue is so vastly better than the wharfdale, that if you are on the fence, do it.

    Have two in an AC30. Have one in other Vox amps, Matchless, Dr. Z, and even a 5E3 Fender Deluxe. It's simply the best tone to my ears.

    where are these spkrs made? Are they returnable? why not?

    They are made in the UK. And they are not returnable because they would have to be installed. If they are defective we can exchange them however.
