Description

The Behringer Hellbabe HB01 redefines what a wah pedal can do for your sound. With its optical design and extensive tone-shaping controls, this pedal provides exceptional flexibility for dialing in your ideal wah tones. The HB01 lets you sweep the frequency range lower than most wahs, all the way down to 250Hz to complement bass and extended range guitars. What's Important Works

Overall, this is a pretty good wah pedal. The spring has good tension, I really like how I don't to worry about a pot being ground to oblivion from overuse. The rubber treads have fallen off recently, so that makes like 5 months. As has the sticker on the front. Sound wise, through all the different adjustments, you can get just about any sound you're looking for in a wah wah. Although, the sticker and treads falling off works in my favor, as I just took a dremel and wrote custom writing in its place. And the price, definitely would buy again.

Not good

I'm a newer guitarist and I wanted to get into using different effects. I bought this pedal mainly for the price and the reviews. It worked great when I first got it and I really didn't play and use it that much. Less then 30 days it stopped working. I ended up getting a used Dunlop that sounds better and works great.

    Not impressed with any of the sounds coming out of this pedal. Mine broke within two months. Now only using Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah-wahs.

    I thought that I would like the automatic engagement, but it was just tot responsive enough to work when needed. It feels like you had to wiggle it a bit before the effect would start. I'll stick with the old "crybaby" for now.

    When Behringer set out to design a wah wah, they obviously only wanted to do it once. The amount of options built into this one pedal far surpasses most anything else out there. Every wah wah has its voice, but this one has many. I used a JH-1 Hendrix wah for many years, so I'm more on the vintage side of things. I've found that vintage low range sound in this pedal as well more shrill settings. The array of knobs and switches on this thing may be a bit much, but I guess if you are trying to make one pedal do it all.... The pedal weighs the same as a crybaby, but the housing is plastic. Yes, plastic. So what? So is a Glock and your car's intake manifold. I've had other Behringer pedals and they haven't broken into dust. The big knob on the right side is the most useful, as this switches between the different tone ranges. The boost switch is there too, how much it boosts is debatable. Two smaller knobs on the port side allow you to fine tune the tone and the sweep of the pedal. That's pretty trick. This pedal has no on/bypass switch. It automatically turns on as you rock your foot forward. I like that, as I've always found engaging the switch on a Dunlop to be difficult on a whim. Word to the wise though, you cannot engage the pedal and leave it on without your foot holding it in place. Yes this is one of those wahs that springs back up and turns off. One particular feature I found super useful was the off timer adjustment that is located on the base of the pedal. It's a funny place to put it, but I'm glad its there. It simply changes the amount of time in the toe up position until the unit goes into bypass. Behringer makes a lot of the fact that this is an optical pedal, so there is no pot to wear out. I can't say I ever wore out a pot on a wah. But, being optical allows for all these different options in one pedal. All in all it's a good wah wah. If you can't find the tone your looking for here, you might want to build your own.

    It does not come with it, the one you would need is the PSU-SB DC power supply.

    This is a hard plastic
