Saturn Floor Tom drums are exacting enough for any and all studio applications and they have been thoroughly road tested by nearly every professional artist on the Mapex roster. The drum artisans at Mapex match the finest, thinnest plies of North American Maple with a selection of dark, rich walnut. The result is a beautifully hand-crafted tom drum with a remarkably wide tonal range.

All Saturn components on Mapex SW toms are finished with eight hand-rubbed coats of high gloss lacquer. This unique finishing process gives the drum a beautifully deep, high gloss, protective shine.

Saturn toms are equipped with exclusive Mapex Powerhoops. Made from 2.3mm chrome steel, the Mapex Powerhoop provides less resistance without adding unnecessary weight that may mute the drum. The tom's mount is secured via the lugs and is not drilled directly into the shell. The Mapex I.T.S. System allows the shell to vibrate freely, allowing for maximum projection and resonance. Saturn floor I.T.S. tom legs are isolated from the shell and include spring loaded feet, that enhance sustain and increase projection. All Saturn tom toms are equipped with Remo Emperor drumheads.

Mapex's low mass lugs are secured to the shell via only one point of penetration. Fewer holes in the drum shell means less vibratory interruption, resulting in truer tone and unimpeded resonance.
