Great value!

Needed a knock-around guitar for practice (at work) so I wouldn't ruin a $4000 Gibson banging it on close quarters, temp changes, humidity issues, etc. I bought this model used (circa 2010) and love it! Stays in tune, GOOD sound and action (better than some new brand name ones $100+ more new). Durable. And it's electrified so you're never left out. Highly recommended for beginners or as a writing/practice/left out-to-play guitar for acoustic fans.

Not sure if I'm qualified to review it... but...

Not sure I'm really that qualified to review as I am very much a beginner... HOWEVER... I have watched at least 40 hours of youtube videos about what to look for, AND I bought 2 guitars (this one for me, and a fender for my daughter) at the same time so we can learn together. Her fender only required a tune and it played beautifully right out of the box, the action was a little high, but still quite fine and playable. This Ibanez one however, I could easily slip 2 quarters between the strings and frets without the string touching which seems pretty high to me... also there is pretty good amount of "fret sprout" where the frets are sticking out of the sides far enough that you could cut your finger on them quite easily. I considered simply taking it back and exchanging it, but I became intrigued watching videos about how to setup and maintain a guitar and decided that since my mission is to "learn" as much as I can and to help my daughter do the same, that this guitar was cheap enough still that I'm going to attempt to do my own setup on it and I think it will be great. The one in the store was beautiful and played wonderful but they did not have this color in stock so I had to order it. I don't mind this extra work as I intend the whole process of learning experience, I have not yet undertook this process as it is already wrapped and under the christmas tree, but tearing it apart, adjusting and putting new strings on is going to be my christmas project while I listen to my daughter noodle around on hers. I was very impressed by the sound of the floor model compared to anything else in this price range and I suspect its not all that common to get one like mine. It all appears to be in great condition, no twists in the neck or anything amd I still felt very attached to it.... so nothing an emery board, some tape, an allen wrench and a little time wont solve I'm sure. I suspect I may be even happier by taking the time to really get the action 'dialed in'.

I am a beginner but this is exactly what I wanted. Great sound, low action, though the picture is deceiving it is more brown. But still looks great. Great guitar

  • I would buy this again. The Vintage Aged gloss is beautifu!

Very good guitar for the money. Sounds better than the lower end Martin guitars.

The guitar is good for anyone who wants a fairly decent cheap one. Just beware the coloring showing isn't the same it's more of a yellow tint

Purchased to learn on, and it sounds, looks, and feels pretty good. The integrated tuner is helpful. No complaints whatsoever about the quality or price point.
