The Monarch 4 Standard is designed from the bottom-up to be your go-to instrument when you want both the vintage-P vibe and the legendary playability of a Fodera. Based on the Monarch 4-string shape (with round-overs that are unique to the Monarch-P) and using the classic tonewood combination of an alder body, Indian rosewood fingerboard and maple neck, the Monarch-P looks and plays like a Fodera but sounds deliciously old-school. The Monarch 4 bass is a completely passive instrument featuring an in-house wired circuit consisting of premium 250k solid shaft pots, a 0.047uf capacitor and 1/4" input jack. The Aguilar P-pickup was designed with the legendary early 60’s P-Bass tone in mind and the 22-fret neck is crafted from 3-piece hard rock maple which is a touch thicker than a “typical” Monarch, but in a way that maintains the optimal balance between tone, playability and comfort. The top is fashioned from a premium piece of book-matched ivorywood and all of the hardware is completely proprietary including the high-mass Standard bridge. Additionally the Monarch-P is built with a control cavity so that if you wanted to add a preamp down the road, there is a place to do it. Finally, the Monarch-P was crafted with no natural shell products which makes it the very first Fodera bass guitar that can be shipped internationally without requiring a costly and time-consuming permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
