Bought this used. Great tone. Great fun. All the features are accessible with familiarity and practice. This pedal even freed up some pedalboard space and greatly expanded my delay capabilities over the flashback mini I used to use. The FB mini sound wasn't the issue. I needed tap tempo, but wasn't looking to paying +$299. If TC electronic implemented the tap tempo system that digitech has, I might (maybe) have stuck it out. I'm thrilled with the obscura, though I wish there was an option to use one of the stereo inputs as an external tap tempo input, and the ability to send digitechs looper synch signal from one of the outs. Those are minor quibbles/wishes. The pedal does what the adds claim, and does them well and looks good doing it. Now that digitech is no longer an ugly duckling, I hope they have succes so they can continue to put out great pedals like my obscura at very reasonable prices.
This pedal took out my Nemesis

First off, cards on the table. I bought this pedal due to the Ventura Vibe mail-in offer. 3 days later it became THE delay pedal on my board. After buying I discovered the built-in tap tempo feature. Half the size of my previous delay, easier to get the sound I wanted out of it. And here's the real kicker: the noise floor of this pedal is virtually non-existent. The previous 3 delay pedal I have owned (some costing $450) all added a white noise hiss to my chain whether on or off. -- I use an isolated power block -- This one added little to none. What a difference when you are laying down guitar parts over quieter passages. I had to recheck it against my other delay 3 times. I could not believe it. Taking it out of true bypass mode (turning on trails) made it even more quiet! And when you are taking a direct line off your board to a house this is crucial. FWIW I do not use a noise suppressor. I have yet to find one that is exactly what I want. Sound-wise, if you want a pure digital delay this is not for you. I do not. I wanted something that added a little character. If a digital delay is red, then I want scarlet, burgundy, crimson, raspberry, maroon, etc... Added bonus: the engine inside is intelligent. When you mess with the time knob is speeds or slows the delay. Getting you all that great analog sputter without a noise floor that matches the output of the repeats. If you listen with your ears and not with a pedal sniffer mentality you will enjoy this pedal. I almost missed out by doing this myself.
Awesome!
