Bo-Pep Flute Finger Rest

I had high hopes for this rest, as I tend to work up a callus on my left index finger where I support the flute. The rest is of nice quality, but my problem with the product is that, when it is placed where my finger naturally falls, it interferes with the octave hole, preventing the key from closing completely. If I adjust for this, the trill hole gets it the way of placement. I have large hands, not huge, but getting the rest in a comfortable position that allows the flute to be stable was not really possible for me. I assume others with a hand size and/or position different from mine can use the rest effectively. I am thinking about removing a bit of material at the edge so that it will fit around the holes.
