I've had and used this board since around Sept. 2020. I use this at my church where serve as a drummer. I pipe the in-ear monitor mix into a channel, and pipe my click into another channel. And, I'm good to go. I've also done full demos on this thing. Sooooo easy to get things going. And now, I have a full acoustic drum kit where I use two dynamic mics (kick and snare) and two condesers (one for the two rack toms and one for the two floor toms) So far, I love the user friendliness of this thing.

Wanted to love this board, but it's going back. Four-piece Americana band, acoustic guitar, dobro, acoustic bass, fiddle/accordion, and three vocal mics. All instruments using appropriate pickups. QSC K-10 for front of house and monitors. Most of our gigs are private parties, and weddings, many are outdoors. Spent lots of time pre-setting all eq and effects saved to scenes prior to gig. Board sounded great in my studio, in the field it was a disaster. There was a very loud combination white noise and 60 cycle ground hum in the mains and monitors. We rebooted several times, changed AC outlets, selectively disconnected mains and monitors, but no cure. We finally just used our old analog board a Soundcrafter Signature 12, and all the noise was gone. Sadly really loved the features, but not sure given its all plastic construction, toy like external power supply this was a good board for our band. YMMV

Overall I like the unit. It is made of plastic, and although that doesn't necessarily mean it is fragile, I don't know if this would really be the right unit for using heavily as a road mixer. For instance, it's billed as being useful as a stand alone mixer, without the recording capability, but I think if you were going to take it to a lot of clubs you'd want to be pretty careful with it. However, I bought it for mainly home use and knew that I wouldn't take it out all that much. That being said, I find it pretty useful with the following caveats. For initial recording your channel must go straight to the track you are recording. So for instance if you wanted to mic a drum kit with 4 mics and route that all to two tracks you couldn't do it initially. There is a work around though of once you have those 4 drum tracks, you can do a mix to the master fader (which has it's own track), you can export that to a USB stick and then drop it back on the stereo channels, freeing up your initial 4 drum tracks. For my workflow this sort of replaces "ping ponging" on other units. I Another thing is that it doesn't have phantom power for each individual mic input, it has two groups of 4 channels that can have phantom power on or off. This means that if you want to use all 8 mic inputs at once, and you have 5 condenser mics and 3 dynamic mics you have an issue, because you have phantom power going to all of them. I don't usually plan on using all of them at once though. Pros: I like the compatibility of using it to record, dropping tracks on a USB stick and then plugging into my computer and dropping them in my DAW. Also, I think you can record simultaneously to the unit while using it as an audio interface, so you'd have a back-up recording. I haven't used the audio interface, but it seems to work. When recording in 96K it disables effects and EQ on playback Bottom line? I'd say it's good for small home studios that want to use it in conjunction with a compute

This unit is perfect for what I use it for. Easy to use interface. Very versatile. So glad I returned my Soundcraft unit and upgraded to this.

Excellent product that is easy to use. Foregoing the hassle of recording using a Scarlett 18i20, Mac and LogicPro, I purchased this to record my acoustic drums using Audix mic set. After getting all the mics and and L-12 mixer setting good, I now can easily record my drums. I do a mixdown of the music with clicktrack from Logic, export 2 channel stereo + 1 channel click, save as wav files and put on SD card. Then I put in the card, set up the song, and record. Once recorded, I download the drum wav files (6 tracks—bass drum, snare, rack tom, floor tom, and 2 overheads) and drag-drop them into my LogicPro song template I created and mix with music. This is way more fun than using my e-drum kit and triggering VSTs and sounds much better. If you're an acoustic drummer looking to easily record your drums, look no further. Also great for recording rehersals and jam sessions so you can listen back to and assess your playing.
