Whether you’re picking up your first instrument or adding a reliable acoustic to your lineup, the F335 delivers accessible performance that encourages players to keep picking it up.

Laminated Spruce and Meranti for Classic Dreadnought Tone

The F335 pairs a laminated spruce top with meranti back and sides to create a full acoustic voice with crisp highs, warm lows and focused midrange response. The spruce top provides clarity and projection, while the laminated construction adds durability and consistency through seasonal humidity changes and everyday use. Meranti contributes warmth and depth, helping the guitar maintain a room-filling sound that works well for strumming, accompaniment and casual solo playing. Built on a traditional dreadnought body shape, the F335 delivers the strong projection and broad tonal character that have made this design a favorite for generations.

Slim Nato Neck and Rosewood Fingerboard

A slim nato neck gives the F335 a smooth, approachable feel that makes chord transitions and melodic movement feel natural and comfortable. Paired with a rosewood fingerboard, it delivers a warm, responsive playing surface with a familiar feel under the fingers. The 25" scale length and 12" fingerboard radius support comfortable fretting and smooth movement across chords, scales and basic lead work.

Classic Dreadnought Style With Reliable Hardware

The F335 features clean, traditional appointments that complement its straightforward acoustic design, including a tortoiseshell-style pickguard, simple soundhole rosette and gloss finish. Chrome die-cast tuners provide dependable tuning stability, while the rosewood bridge helps maintain clear sustain and consistent response. Built with long-term reliability in mind, the guitar balances classic looks with practical durability for everyday use.

A Dependable Dreadnought Built to Grow With You

The Yamaha F335 delivers the projection, warmth and approachable feel that players look for in a dependable acoustic guitar. Its classic dreadnought voice, comfortable neck and durable construction make it a strong choice for everything from first chords to everyday songwriting and practice. Offered as a Guitar Center Exclusive, it is an accessible acoustic built to support steady practice, songwriting and everyday playing.

Yamaha F335 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar: FAQ

Is the Yamaha F335 good for beginners?
Yes. The F335 is commonly recommended for beginners because of its comfortable neck profile, dependable construction and straightforward acoustic design. Its dreadnought body also provides full, balanced sound for practice, lessons and casual performance.

What style of music is the Yamaha F335 good for?
The Yamaha F335 works well for strumming-focused styles including folk, country, pop, rock and singer-songwriter accompaniment. Its dreadnought body delivers strong projection and balanced tone that suits rhythm playing, practice and casual performance.

What does the laminated spruce top do on the Yamaha F335?
The laminated spruce top helps provide balanced projection with clear highs and warm low end while improving durability against temperature and humidity changes. Laminated construction also helps maintain structural stability over time.

How do I adjust the action on a Yamaha F335?
The Yamaha F335 features a standard acoustic guitar setup, so action adjustments are typically made by tightening or loosening the truss rod for neck relief or lowering the saddle to reduce string height. Because permanent saddle changes can affect playability and intonation, many players choose to have acoustic setups performed by a qualified technician.

How long is the Yamaha F335?
The Yamaha F335 has a 25" scale length, giving it a balanced feel with moderate string tension and comfortable fret spacing. Its full-size dreadnought body provides the commanding tone and projection commonly associated with traditional acoustic guitars.

Pick this guitar!

The Yamaha F335 is my third guitar. I was looking for an inexpensive acoustic guitar to replace my broken one. After trying so many guitars, this was definitely the one. It plays just as well as a Taylor, for less than half the price! I have the sunburst one... the color is beautiful, the sound is beautiful, and it's very comfortable. This guitar is great for everyone... if you're looking for your first or replacement guitar, this is the one!

It's good... for the price

I wanted a beater guitar that I could practice on and improve my skills, while not being so expensive or delicate that I would have a heart attack if my young kids got a hold of it. I also didn't want to have to worry about treating it delicately with regards to conditions like humidity. This all-laminate guitar was a perfect choice, and I actually chose it for these reasons over a spruce top model. The sound is ok, it's very playable, but tuning stability and intonation are not very good. This guitar is a great entry level or beater guitar, but you would be wise to ignore any reviews that say "it plays like a Taylor!" or "It sounds better than my friend's Martin!" No, people, it doesn't. Not even close. Comments like that are made by people who haven't been playing long enough for playability to matter, and/or have a tin ear. But for the price, it's a good low end guitar and a great choice for a beginner or student. Yamaha probably makes the best cheap guitars out there (< $250).

Good price for a guitar like this, easy to play , has a pretty decent sound , the only problems is that mine was missing one of the strap locks , and bends are IMPOSSIBLE no matter how hard or how far you bend it just scrapes the fret and doesn't make a single difference in sound.

Guitar has a really good sound but the frets are the worst I've ever seen. I understand that this is an inexpensive, beginner tier guitar, but I have purchased even cheaper guitars in the past with more attention paid to the frets. They are not sprouting of the edge of the neck, they are extremely rough, and in need of polish. Trying to bend a string at all, anywhere on the neck is a bad experience.

I got this guitar because they had a door buster special on it. I was expecting to have to do a lot of set up for the price I got it at. I didn't have to do much. I had two frets that had a little fret sprout and I oiled the fret board. Stays in tune fairly well and it's great for picking up and strumming when I don't feel like plugging in.

Floored at the quality and volume for the price. Rare 25" radius for Yamaha. Laminated so you don't have to worry to much about climate affecting the wood. I was going to immediately replace with a bone nut and saddle, but I will wait due to the plastic doing a decent job after my setup. Tuners are much better than anticipated.

Can the pick guard that comes on the Gutiar be taken off and it the overall quality good.

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
Yes, the Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar in Tobacco Brown Sunburst is a very popular entry-level acoustic guitar, and your instincts are likely correct — it's common for customers to ask about removing the pickguard or question the build quality, especially when buying multiple units. Pickguard Removal Factory Pickguard: The F335 comes with a self-adhesive pickguard, not embedded or screwed on. Yes, it can be removed, but: You’ll need to gently heat the pickguard (using a hair dryer) to soften the adhesive. Use a plastic scraper or dental floss to lift it without damaging the finish. After removal, adhesive residue may remain and can be cleaned with naphtha (lighter fluid), carefully. Be aware: some discoloration may appear under the guard due to uneven UV exposure over time. Overall Quality Build: Laminated spruce top, meranti back/sides, rosewood fingerboard — solid for the price. Fit & Finish: Surprisingly good for its price point. Yamaha’s QA is reliable, and the F335 is a consistent performer. Tone: Bright and punchy, but not as resonant or warm as solid-top guitars. Playability: Comfortable neck profile, although action may need adjustment from the factory. Summary Yes, the pickguard can be removed with care. Quality is very good for a budget guitar — ideal for beginners or casual players. Not a high-end instrument, but Yamaha’s reputation for consistency shines through.
