I'll bet that everyone out there that has an E-kit and really likes all the parts of the kit, the one part they most likely don't like would be the Hi-Hat. Everyone can find something to complain (and rightly so) that their E-kit Hi-Hat is no good! The Roland VH-10 is the BEST E-kit Hi-Hat. I say if you can find a better one, buy it! Fast! I heard that Roland has come out with a newer Hi-Hat for the TD-27 series, that is even better. I am very happy with my VH-10. It's not perfect, but its one of if not the best E-kit Hi-Hat you can get. I've been using my TD17 kit and VH-10 since 2019 and I LOVE the kit including the VH-10 Hi-Hat.

It's as advertised. Once the correct distance is set between the top and bottom it's very close to a real hi hat.

I bought the Roland HV-10 Hi-Hat a few months Back. It was brand new and it looks like a great hi-Hat Pad. The reason I bought this was to replace my Other HV-10 Hi-Hat that came with kit VAD306 Kit. After owning it a few months after the released date. The Problem with this HV-10 Hi-Hat is I only had it for 3-4 months after replacing it with my previously one. It seems like Roland doesn't make those HV-10's good enough to last long. I'm a drummer and I play almost everyday, I enjoy all kinds of music. But When I play fast 16th notes on the Hi-Hat. It seems like it will hurt and came the HV-10 Hi-Hat not last very not at all. and will stopping working after a little while. The other issue I has with this one was, I suddenly had sound issues with the Hi-Hat it will start making chocking noises if you hit it when a drum stick. And not function right anymore. I'm very disappointed after replacing this Hi-Hat twice and running into the same issues with it in a short period of time.

I purchased the Alesis Strike Pro SE and the hi hat was difficult to adjust and fine tune. The Roland VH10 worked right out of the box.

i am upgrading an older TD-4 Roland kit with new cymbals. the new VH-10 hi hat is by far more realistic and better sounding than the old hi hat that came with the kit. it was plug and play right out of the box.

This hi-hat came with the Roland TD-17 KVX kit I recently purchased. I got the DW 3000 2-legged hi-hat stand to put it on. You will most likely want a 2-legged hi-hat stand for the Roland TD-17 kits because the frame included is the new "compact " size, having an extra leg down there will NOT be to your advantage. The response and feel of the VH-10 will appear FAMILIAR, but hitting a rubberized hard plastic cymbal is obviously NOT the same experience as with a metal cymbal. The rebound is very close and the amplified sound you'll hear convincing, BUT, you'll have to learn WHERE you NEED to strike the cymbal to create a CLEAN tone - missing the sweet spots where the sensors are result in a muffled half-cymbal half clunky-plastic sound. I use 14" hi-hats on my acoustic kit - having a smaller, "fussier" target required a short adjustment period. My only serious gripe is you can NOT keep the hi-hat cymbal from rotating horizontally, unlike the crash and ride cymbals, which sit on a shaped post mount. This is important because you WANT to keep the sensors lined up correctly in front of you or you get muffled strikes. You will be correcting THIS alignment a LOT ! Overall, at THIS time, this hi-hat is the best thing going out there at this price point. I gave it 4 stars because we have NOT arrived at the point in Rock and Roll history when V-drums have perfected the cymbals. Until then you can enjoy these .. .
