Best Value Ever

I fully did not intend to purchase a guitar when I went in to GC, but after playing this thing (the last one I touched, ironically) I bought it immediately, figuring that they must have mistakenly put the wrong price tag on it. I've been playing for years and this one was among the best of the bunch in terms of playability and intonation, and could more than hold its own against hand-crafted guitars costing $3,000 and up. It has an immediate, almost piano-like attack and a bright, ringing sustain. When I got it home, I at first noticed some annoying buzz which I attributed to the low action causing notes to "fret out"; however, it turns out that this was just the piezo tone/volume control rattling in its mount, which was easily fixed by tightening the mounting screws. The best thing about this guitar is that it has a truss rod (unusual and possibly even unnecessary on a nylon string classical guitar) which allows for an ultra-flat radius fretboard and "D" shaped neck (think of Ibanez electric guitars), all of which makes playing it almost effortless.

Not worth the money

I recently began playing classical guitar and wanted an entry level guitar. This seemed perfectly in my price range and I was hopeful it would be of good enough build to last me a few years. I read the few reviews on here and was satisfied with the other reviewer's satisfaction. I tested the floor model out at the store and continued to be satisfied. After buying a fresh one in the box, I took it home to start practicing. Almost immediately I noticed an awful fret buzz located in the first 3 frets on nearly every string. Yes, it's a cheap guitar, but that doesn't mean it should make this unappealing noise on so many ftrets - if you're a musician with any skill level, you will notice it immediately and it will most likely bug the hell out of you. I exchanged it the next day for the same model, also fresh out of the box. Exact same problem. Yes, it's mass produced, and some "less-than-satisfactory" models will leave the factory, but having had 2 of these in a row have faulty string buzz on nearly every fret (therefore, unavoidable), and having adjusted the nut in the neck to try to alleviate the issue to no avail, I returned this subpar product to the store, shelled out an extra $100 and got the Maneul Rodriguez 11 Cabellero model and am unbelievably satisfied with the build and sound of the guitar. In conclusion, being a beginner to the classical guitar (though not to guitar in general), I wouldn't even recommend this guitar to another beginner - it's not worth the money, and it's absolutely worth the money to save up and spend a little more.

    This was an amazing product. It gets the job done. No fret buzz detected. It feels very nice to play. The action is very good and the instrument comes with an Allen key to fix the action. It is comfortable to hold and play. I really has no downsides. The color is very nice. This is my new favorite guitar.

    This is a very nice student guitar. I bought it to expand a bit from my usual jazz and blues playing. My one complaint is that I bought an "open box" item, but it seems to have been EXTENSIVELY used. The strings are dead, and there is oxidation on the EA and D. Was this a display model?

    First let me say that I am no concert guitarist, But I have played for a lot of years and with a lot of entry level guitars. I bought this guitar because they didn't have the Yamaha that I went there to purchase. Very disappointed I begrudgingly bought this one with every intention of exchanging it for the "better" Yamaha when they got it in. But after a few weeks of playing it, I honestly wouldn't trade this guitar for any other. It sounds as good or better than any more expensive entry level guitar. And I have a few others. Even with the strings that came on it it sounds really good! These are not top of the line tuning machines of course, as you would expect for a guitar in this price range, but they work. I have to tune it every few times I pick it up but that may just be the nylon strings. But when its in tune it sounds amazing! Same for the electronics. And the finish on this Lucero is flawless. It looks as beautiful as it sounds.

    Might not be exact, but it would be close. Mainly the grains on the top would be different, not really the actual color beyond that.

    Yes. A regular strap will do. It requires a string put through the strap hole and then tied to the neck, below the head stock.
