I bought this bass with the plan to paint some little designs on it to prep for my next show. It plays fantastically, as does my other Ibanez bass, and I am so happy with how everything turned out. Neck feels great and the sound didn't change with the paint and finishing spray that i put on it.

My daughter recently had her 17th birthday and wanted me to purchase her a new bass guitar and some other items to go with it. She chose this guitar, and it looks awesome. She has school concerts, and at her last concert she played a bass guitar, and now she has her own bass guitar. I must say this guitar looks amazing. I would recommend this Ibanez GSR200. Last year, I got her the white Hello Kitty electric guitar. I want to get her another one, but I would need to do some overtime first.

I saw and played an almost identical bass back in the late eighties and fell in love with it. Unfortunately I only had a minimum wage job back then that did not pay me enough to afford such an extravagant purchase. Fast forward to 2026. It is February and I have ordered an Ibanez acoustic bass from Guitar Center in Nashville. I had it delivered to the store. In the meantime I was looking around at Ibanez bass guitars using the app and ran across this GSR200 in transparent red. It was my bass from almost 40 years ago. I had to have it. The best part was that it was the exact same price as the acoustic bass I bought. They did a straight trade and I took my dream bass home with me. I ran into a problem when I tried to play it at home. I had not tried the bass out in the store and didn't discover that the bass needed a complete setup. After the setup I noticed that there was still some minor string buzz but not enough to really be noticeable. This bass sounds great, looks great and is so much fun to play. Disclaimer-I am a rank beginner. I freely admit that much of the string buzz is probably due to my burgeoning skills that are in need of more practice.

I picked one of these up just this last Sunday for recording. I had read a few negative reviews, but the beauty of going to a shop is you can see for yourself then and there. GC had one in and from the moment I unboxed it I was impressed. No fret sprout, the neck was a soft, comfortable, satin neck, the tuners responsive and held their tune, and the action was perfect. Tone wise the P&J set up was exactly what the doctor order with the additional option of an EQ knob for further tonal variations. No it's not a Rickenbacker, but if you're a beginner, or on a budget, or just need something to give you good tone while recording this baby will more than deliver.

I first touched Gio things in 96 and when I played T-Ball. The local church I went to was EV, The Jr High School Leader let me play through the Carvin 210 stack they were Using. I knew that the Soundgear stuff was not me so I left it on the stage; one of those church basses. Around 99-02 when the Gio SR came out I tried the 100 series out but it was not for me. The humbuckers were to meaty and the magnets were just to thick for me. Know we use right hand with the Zoom 506 bass pedal. The AA neck and GSR 190 was a nice sounding Rosewood slab in the early 2000s but it had a short run with the Basswood. Picking was PJ fender sounding to me so I was into bolt-ons and using my fingers to play. I like the sounding of the deeper woods Bubinga was just to excotic for me.
