Definitely well made and a good buy at this price, but I really could use a wider neck at the nut (I wear a size 12 ring). The tone was a bit boxy and thin as well.

I've been looking for a guitar that's smaller than a traditional travel sized, but was a little more guitar than some guitar-leles and also not super cheap in construction. With the steel strings and the size (think tenor ukulele) the tamber has kind of a mandolin quality to it, but I also still feel like I'm playing a guitar, for the most part. Really solid construction. I replaced the plastic nut and saddle with bone, and sanded them down to lower the action. I also adjusted the tuning up a step (B E A D F# B) this helps traditional open chord shapes better align with major chords. I put D'addario coated extra light strings on it. At about 27' long, it'll fit in most tenor sized ukulele cases. I love this thing and can't wait to take it on road trips. No regrets!

I can't put this little guitar down. It barks like a mandolin and is really fun to play. Its compact size makes it easy to carry around the house and play anywhere. The intonation was a bit off out of the box. I put on some new strings (elixir nano-web phosphor bronze custom lights [.011-.052]), sanded the saddle down about a millimeter and tightened the truss about 3/4 turn. Now it sounds perfect and the action is about 2.5 mm at 12th fret for the low E. The only down side is that after playing this thing so much my dreadnought now feels comically large.

It's a cute little guitar. I tried tuning it to standard tuning and it worked, but still didn't sound all that great. Once I tuned it back to factory tuning it became a lot of fun to play. Only downside is now I have to try and learn new chords because I don't know that tuning style. But that's the breaks, it isn't a normal guitar. Thought about returning it, but I might end up keeping it after all is said and done.

This is a decent enough piccolo guitar. The look is above average and the playability, machines, nut, frets and bridge are all acceptable. The intonation is pretty decent although I find the 1 thru 5 frets to go a bit sharp (verified with my Snark tuner). The octave intonation (12th fret and harmonics) is actually better. The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is the sound which is more uke-like than a crisp guitar sound. I've heard some piccolo guitars on youtube where the sound projected and the strings rang. That's what I would like to find before I use a piccolo guitar on stage. I haven't yet tried new/different strings or amplification (and EQ).

Holds tune, good intonation, surprisingly loud.
