Epiphone Les Paul Custom Purple Burst Widow - It's Purple!

The Epiphone Les Paul Custom Widow is a striking Guitar Center-exclusive take on the classic single-cut design, with bold burst finishes and color-matched binding that really stand out visually. Built around a solid mahogany body with a flame maple top, it delivers a warm, rich tone with plenty of sustain and clarity, perfect for rock, blues, or studio work. The ProBucker Custom humbuckers offer vintage-inspired warmth with dynamic response, while the comfortable modern C neck and smooth ebony fingerboard make it easy to play for hours. Many players praise its looks, solid build, and great sound at the price point, though some suggest a setup or pickup swap for picky ears. Overall, it's an inspiring, affordable Les Paul-style guitar with standout aesthetics and strong performance. Blah, blah, blah Realistically it is a beautiful purple guitar, that's build is pretty much flawless, awesome paint and finish and great attention to detail. #sweepstakes

Malfunctioning electronics out of the box.

Like others say, stunning look. However, the neck purple coloring is scraped unevenly near the guitar side. Not a big problem. What is a big problem is the fact that when the switch is in the neck position there is almost no output. This behavior is inconsistent but frequent. I do hope that it is just the switch. Also, the cable jack is completly lose after a few days of usage. The factory setup is nonexistent. Action is as high as it could be, and the intonation is off. But the setup was advised by the Guitar Center sales guy before the sale so this isn't a complain but rather observation. Shipping packaging is asking for damage. Big flimsy outer cardbord box that is barely taped and came almost open. Inside was the small guitar box that was not taped at all and inside this one was a guitar in a soft gig bag. I selected that I would not recommend it to a friend but this is only the case if one cannot work on a guitar. I think the issues can be resolved and it will be a fantastic instrument.

Playability through the roof. Great cleans. The pickups a get a little muddy as your turn up the distortion but no one in the audience can hear it. Mine was gig ready right out of the box.

  • I like it.

Haven't played in years and this fits me like a glove. I love the red burst. I love the tone thru my Marshall MG50FX and both my Rat and Metal Zone pedals. Pickups have great output. Nice playability. Good action out of the box. Holds tune nicely after the strings stretched out. Highly recommend it!

  • This is the best guitar I own

I love this guitar so much. It has amazing tones. I can play clean, overdrive, fuzz, or distortion, and it sounds great. It plays like a dream too. Absolutely beautiful color as well. I got the purple, and it's the best color I've ever seen on a guitar.

  • First guitar after a hiatus, & I LOVE it.

I grew up playing guitar with my dad on a fender strat, but I always loved the looks of Les Paul's. Life happened, & I stopped playing for probably 16 years. I decided I wanted to get back into it, & researched all of the different models of Les Paul's (which there are a lot of) & decided I wanted a "custom" trim. Found this one (on sale during Guitar-A-Thon too) & decided to pull the trigger. It feels SO nice. The fretboard feels great & it feels beautiful. The stock strings are "okay". I'm still learning/relearning, so I haven't changed them out yet, but I eventually will. Overall, I love this guitar.

  • Beautiful guitar. Easy to play. Sounds great

I have a 1986 burnt red Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar. The new guitar plays as good as my old guitar. I play for my own enjoyment and I am enjoying the Les Paul Custom Widow Guitar.
