Description

The Epiphone Hummingbird Studio brings the iconic 1960s classic into an affordable package, with premium Fishman electronics. This right-handed dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar features a solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and mahogany neck for a bold, balanced tone that only improves with age. Now equipped with a Fishman Sonitone preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup, the Hummingbird Studio delivers its signature woody sound on stage through any amplifier or PA system.

All-Solid Tonewoods Resonate for Decades

The Hummingbird Studio's solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and mahogany neck provide a resonant and complex tone that blossoms over time. Its spruce top opens up as it's played, enhancing rich overtones and a warm sustain. The mahogany body adds midrange punch and clarity. Together, these tonewoods produce the Hummingbird's famously throaty and well-balanced acoustic sound.

Shadow Electronics Amplify Natural Resonance

The Hummingbird Studio comes equipped with professional-grade Shadow electronics to amplify its all-acoustic tone. The Fishman Sonitone preamp features simple volume and tone controls to shape the sound, while the Sonicore under-saddle pickup accurately captures the guitar's natural resonance and nuanced dynamics. This plugged-in performance allows the Hummingbird Studio to shine on stage through any PA or acoustic amplifier.

Great Hummingbird!!

I have owned the Hummingbird for about 6 weeks now, it was my first guitar. I always thought my fingers were too short to play, but I was determined to get around that somehow. This is a great guitar, it fits my hand and fingers, and it has an absolute classic look! My 12 year old son likes it so much as well that I got both the ebony and faded cherry. The pickup is great too!

250$ guitar at best!

The electronics on this SHADOW is lacking a Tuner for 1. It should be a staple that ALL acoustic electrics come WITH a TUNER. Secondly I own other acoustic electrics and their electronics are far more EQ'able, ie, Presence, Low, Mid,High knobs and frequency adjusmtent knobs as well as a TUNER. They call this a PRO model but not worh almost 400 bucks. I purchased new used excellent condition witrh new case for the same as by itself. There is nothing about this guitar that makes it Pro worthy. Basically the electronics are low grade. If you finger pick everysong this is a great guitar. IF you are eclectic and move from soft finger picking to more aggressive style of playing the sound changes slightly. When plugged in. AHHHHH. mid highs that are not sweepable nor removable and very high pitch buzzing through pickup. The mute works just fine. Very unsatisfied as far as purchasing this guitar for giging(for me much anyway). I am a sound engineer for over 15 years and have ran sound for a truckload of musicians and their gear. Unplugged it great. Plug it and EQ the living *&^ out of the shrill mid highs. I perform as well so to me this is an over priced guitar that bassically ive found that the neck is the only real nice part of it, oh the Grovers are cool.. I have four other acoustics and all but 1 acoustic/electric. my wifes Oscar Schmidt is extremely comparable.by sound reproduction but not playability and surely not price . This Hummingbird feels great in the hands but over priced. I have over 10 guitars. I thought this would shine like a diamond not only by the looks (it does) but by sound as well. I have been met half way. Put a real preamp in this guitar from the factory that is able for the artist or whomever is going to be using this"Shadow junk" can adjust the frequencies properly and entirely, and not needing external devices and EQing. My first Epiphone could be my last. As far as recomending this guitar- campfire, yes. Gigging, N

    I own a Taylor 614ce Builders Edition, and I bought this guitar to take to open mics and gigs so I don't have to take a multi thousand dollar guitar out of my studio. I test played it at a Guitar Center store, and was very impressed and decided to order ir online a few weeks later. This guitar plays like a high end instrument for thousands less. My only beef with it is the battery pouch that is hard to reach to change batteries when needed. Otherwise, I can't find any fault. Sounds great and plays great for the price.

    I'm back to guitar after a few years off I did not want to go all out on price the epiphone was the perfect buy for me. My finger strength needs some improving because I still hear some buzzing but other than that, I love it :)

    If you like the Hummingbird sound, do sit down with one of these! The solid top has the sound. The laminated back & sides means it can take some knocks. Looks gorgeous! What's not to like?

    It seems that some of these hummingbirds have the electronic controls on the outside on the body of the guitar whereas some have the controls in the soundhole. This is a gift and I am looking for the guitar with the less visible, soundhole controls. Which do you sell?

    This guitar has a built in preamp, so the volume and tone would be controlled with whatever amp or PA system the guitar would be connected to.
