Thrilled With This Guitar

Like many during the days of COVID I decided to learn guitar. In my quest to produce better digital music I felt that learning an instrument would help progress my skills. After a lot of research I purchased an inexpensive ($120) guitar (FYI it is a solid entry level that I am happy with and will continue to use) concerned I was going to blow money on a passing interest. As I realized I absolutely love playing the guitar I set a time frame to step up to a better guitar to ensure I keep interest before a heavy investment. That's when I started researching. I watched videos, played instruments and read all kinds of suggestions for what a price point and quality guitar would be right for me. I have a list of guitars I may want in the future, but for now this guitar a perfect fit. To be honest I just received it today at 9am and it's now 11:55pm. Tuning is a breeze and the hardware just feels so much more solid than my other current. And the sound... OH man I love the sound. Deep, solid and resonant. It's a 180 degrees from my starter and better than most I tried. It feels so good in my arms. My fingers feel sure and comfortable when playing chords or picking notes that I've been able to play through the day without having to rest my arms. I checked out guitars that are far more expensive. A couple are on my bucket list for the future, which also started to give me a better understanding of the sound and play varied. This guitar smoked anything else for me at this stage in my education and skill. Another big plus is that it is beautiful. Being a research junkie in all my interests I pretty objective. That being said I've only been playing for six months so my experience is limited.

Looks Aren't Everything

I was looking for a guitar to use as a backup for my Taylor 114ce on gigs. The vintage looks io this blew me away and I was sure that an Epiphone in this range would be a great player. Unfortunately, it just wasn't. The e and b have a very tacky sound and while the fishman pickup worked well, the bass strings sounded off through my Loudbox mini. Also, the battery pouch is a massive pain to work with. The ultimate dealbreaker however was the buzzing. Further up the frets, you'd get a buzzing especially with a flatpick. I actually traded in the model I bought to guitar center for a second one which was better, but it still buzzed under heavy picking. Mind you, I have a pretty aggressive strum attack, but my Taylor never buzzes like this. I ultimately traded it on for a Guild om240ce. I suppose this is a good guitar for someone who will play lightly and it will look beautiful on your wall, but it was not for me.

    I wanted to like this guitar. It came damaged in transit but I would have sent it back anyway. The neck was hard to play; wide, buzzy, felt like I was fighting it. I see Epi has launched a new version of this guitar with a different neck profile and Fishman system, so maybe I will give it a try. Be careful which one you order as they are named similarly.

    Its a great under 500 guitar. Youre definitely bot getting a 1k guitar for 500 or less. But it certainly is worth the worth. Sounds good, looks great. The battery holder is terrible but I guess thats where theyre saving money. Overall id say its a good beginners guitar. I did get an add for 50 dollars less that I paid literally before the guiat even got to my house.

    The Epiphone Hummingbird (single cut) delivers way above its price. The tone is warm and full, with great projection, and the split block inlays give it a classy, distinctive look. I love the discreet volume and tone controls inside the sound hole — clean and practical. My only complaint is the battery pouch, which is a little awkward to change. I was able to snag it for a great deal that I couldn't walk away from, and for the price, this guitar offers fantastic playability, beautiful aesthetics, and a sound that keeps you reaching for it.

    Sounds amazing and feels great! It doesn't look exactly like the picture so be aware of that especially if you order it but don't be alarmed it is the right guitar. I bought mine in store and the worker said that not all of them look the same as one another it just depends. Great for if you are just starting out or if you have been playing for a while! The quality is amazing and looks very similar to a Gibson so if you are wanting a Gibson but not the price this is a great option!
