Bass player here. I have had this amp for over 10 years and I think it's wonderful for lower volume uses where portability is a factor. I use it mostly for bass and some guitar. I bought it initially as a travel amp so I'd have something discrete to plug into when playing bass/ jamming with acoustic guitars. From the moment I plugged it in I knew it was quality piece. And....It fits into my suitcase! Since then I have used it for: upright bass, electric bass (within reason, but surprisingly capable), and plugged into a 112 or 210 speaker when I need extra output. Often all it's I need for rehearsal if the band isn't too loud. And despite being a guitar amp I actually prefer it to some bass amps! It is my living room practice amp and sounds great on bass recordings I make at home with an iPhone. I have brought it to recording sessions when I just need a little monitor to hear myself (main output to board through a DI) Reverb and EQ are good for both guitar or bass. And as a bonus I now have a legit guitar amp to provide to guitarists when needed. This is a glowing review, but to clarify: I would NOT bring it to a gig or full volume rock band rehearsal to amplify my bass at gig level. It is clearly not designed to do that. Other than that it, it works well as a portable/backup bass rig and has held up to this use for over 10 years! You do need to be careful though, it's still a guitar amp, but as long as the sound is clean and you're not using an external EQ to boost the bass frequencies unreasonably it should hold up. It did for me anyway. Only wish: they would make a matching 8 ohm extension cabinet.

This is the perfect amp for when my 1x12 combo is too much power, or I don't feel like lugging a heavy amp around. This Little Jazz can keep up with reserved drummers and quiet cocktail gigs, and perfect for the experienced musician who knows how to control dynamics.

  • I finally found my perfect bedroom amp

Excellent sounding home amp for cleans and takes pedals well. Light, compact and easy to carry around. Clear as a bell sounding 8 inch speaker, very satisfied.
