Casiotone usage as a MIDI Keyboard | CASIO

Description
The Casio Casiotone CT-S410 portable keyboard lets you compose and perform anytime, anywhere. With 61 full-size, touch-responsive keys and hundreds of high-quality tones and rhythms powered by Casio's AiX sound engine, the CT-S410 provides an authentic playing experience in an ultracompact package. Whether at home, on the road or on stage, this lightweight yet robust keyboard inspires musical creativity for players of all skill levels.
AiX Sound Engine Delivers Premium Tones and Rhythms
The Casiotone CT-S410's AiX processor serves up 600 realistic instrument tones, from grand pianos and organs to guitars and brass. With reverb and chorus effects, you can add dimension and depth to your performances. Choose from 200 built-in rhythms in a variety of musical genres to accompany your playing, including rock, pop, jazz and Latin styles. The bass-reflex speaker system provides dynamic, full-range stereo sound to bring your compositions to life.
Intuitive Controls and Portability
Despite its compact size, the CT-S410 offers an array of user-friendly features for limitless creative possibilities. The pitch bend wheel allows for dramatic pitch shifts, while the song recorder can capture up to five tracks of your music. The class-compliant USB port provides a simple connection to the free Chordana Play app for iOS and Android devices. With optional battery power, the CT-S410 gives you the freedom to make music whenever and wherever inspiration strikes. For on-the-go portability, the included carrying strap and music rest provide comfortable stand-up play.
Accessorize and Expand Your Musical Experience
For wireless connectivity, the optional WU-BT01 Bluetooth MIDI/audio adapter (sold separately) allows you to stream audio and MIDI data between the CT-S410 and your smartphone, tablet or laptop. With Casio's SP-3 optional pedal/footswitch (sold separately), you can sustain notes, start/stop playback or activate effects hands-free.

A Casiotone no longer for the painfully alone
I'm really pleased with this, although I got it at 20% off the current price. It's extremely compact, lightweight, and portable, especially with batteries. Get the impulse? Just slap it onto your lap and play. Should fit in 61-key keyboard gig bags and even some skateboard bags. The sounds are quite good, especially if you enable the "Surround" button. Nothing is triple-strike sampled, but the basic Stage Piano sounds convincingly piano-like, and you can both layer and split the keyboard. Other keyboard-instrument and mallet patches are quite usable, plus there are some real gems: brass-section quick "fall" patches, Arabic strings, and synths with portamento. The amp/speakers get only moderately loud, but sound superb for this keyboard's size and weight. The only serious omission is a mod/vibrato wheel, for which you can't reprogram the pitch-bend wheel. Still, there's an expression trick: You can dial between adjacent (e.g.) organ patches on held notes, to sort-of simulate a Leslie rocking between slow/fast. Compared to lower-cost 61-key Casiotones, this S410 gives you a different (better) sound engine and a pitch-bend wheel. It doesn't have the fun monkey-grip handle, but there's still an indentation in the same location, which you can use to pick up the keyboard (even though the manual tells you not to). Overall, a fun and portable practice, arranging, and jamming instrument at a nice price.

Eh…it's fine
It's fine. Just fine. Sure, there are a ton of sounds, but they're poorly organized and, honestly, only about a dozen of them are actually good. I'm going to have to run it through Mainstage when I play live, making it little more than an expensive MIDI keyboard. Oh, and I've had it a month now and the power button is already starting to stick. If you're thinking about one of these Casitones, save yourself $50 and just get the CT-S1. Better looking and easier to use.

Great overall portable keyboard. Good quality chassis, structurally very sturdy. Key action could be better, but great for a semi-weighted keyboard. Sound selection is quite extensive, with over 600 sounds. Touch-sensitivity (as an acoustic player) was a little difficult to get used to, though I adjusted fast. Gaps between the keys are a little inconsistent, but not too noticeable. The keyboard weighs around 10 pounds, making it very easy to carry around. #sweepstakes

We have been using this keyboard to help with song composition and recording (we primarily play guitar). It's has a nice sound and feel (with and without being plugged into the computer), fun to play, a good size to fit in a small studio, and works well as a MIDI. Really happy with this purchase, looking forward to learning more piano and using it even more in our songs!

This keyboard has great touch and feel and has more features than I could ever use. Great sound in a small package. I wanted a smaller size keyboard as i live in a pretty small condo. Pretty lightweight and easy to move. I can use it on my coffee table or set it on the kitchen table. I would recommend this keyboard for any beginner, intermediate, or even a better player looking for a great sound and feel in a small package.
It would be a good keyboard for practicing

I used the keyboard for practicing my songs I had to learn. It does have a nice sound, very close to the CT-S500 which I have here, both keyboards are lightweight and can be played like a guitar.
Casio are truly coming out with great sounding keyboards!

I use this keyboard for mostly practicing but I would use it for performance. It really has some great pianos, electric pianos, many of the voices the CT-S500 has which I have as well. Both keyboards sound very good. Casio has come along way and I'm sure they will get even better soon!

Great keyboard to just have fun with. My other keyboard is bigger and has weighted keys. This one I can create some arrangements with the accompaniment and different sounds. I also love how lightweight and transportable it is.

What is the difference between this product (CT-S410) and the Casiotone CT-S400? They apparently are identical in features and visually I can only notice that the CT-S410 has yellow lettering instead of white like on the CT-S400.
They appear to be very similar, please give us a call to better help you out 855-770-3373submitted4 years ago

Is there a music rest that is compatible with the Casiotone CT-S410 keyboard? I assumed that the product would come with one but apparently it doesn't.
