Guitar Center CEO Gabe Dalporto recently sat down with Guitar World for an in-depth interview. He touched on his time growing up in a musical family in rural West Virginia, dished on a few of the favorite guitars in his collection and spoke candidly about his plans for ushering our storied brand into a new era.
Under his guidance, Guitar Center strives to put the focus back on passionate players. By providing an unparalleled brick-and-mortar experience supported by cutting-edge digital infrastructure—and continuing to offer a massive assortment of instruments, recording gear, live sound equipment and more—Guitar Center is on a mission to be a leader in an ever-evolving industry.
The customer-centric changes Dalporto seeks to implement are informed by his own experience as a musician. Using personal insight as a guiding light, he ultimately wants Guitar Center to “have re-established trust with musicians. I want a musician, when they need help, to come to Guitar Center, and I want them to have such a great experience that they tell their other musician friends about it. That’s the simplest way I can say it.”
