The Vintage 1970s MXR M117 Flanger (commonly referred to by its modern catalog number, MX117) is an absolute powerhouse of analog modulation. Released in 1978 by the original Rochester, New York-based MXR Innovations, this heavy-duty stompbox is universally famous for delivering the definitive, high-headroom "jet-plane" whoosh used by Eddie Van Halen on iconic tracks like "Unchained" and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love".
