Description
Step into the golden era with this 2002 Gibson Custom, ART & HISTORIC 1958 Les Paul Reissue (LPR-8)—a beautifully aged example of Gibson’s Historic line that delivers vintage tone, feel, and vibe without compromise.
This R8 features a rich Washed Cherry Sunburst finish over a tasteful, lightly figured maple top—just enough flame to catch the eye while staying true to the understated character of many original ’58 bursts. The finish has developed a warm, broken-in look that pairs perfectly with the naturally worn nickel hardware.
At just 8.5 lbs, this is an exceptionally comfortable Les Paul, offering the kind of resonance and balance players chase in a great Historic. The chunky ’58 neck profile fills the hand without feeling cumbersome, delivering that classic feel that made these guitars legendary.
Tonally, this guitar is everything you want from a Custom Shop reissue—full, articulate lows, woody mids, and sweet, singing highs. The pickups have opened up nicely over time, giving you a dynamic response that cleans up beautifully and roars when pushed.
Condition:
Rated in Great Condition, this guitar shows light, honest playwear consistent with a well-cared-for 20+ year-old instrument. Minor surface marks and light hardware patina add to its vintage appeal—nothing excessive or distracting.
