Switchable polar patterns let you change how the STC-3X responds to sound around the capsule without changing microphones. Cardioid mode prioritizes the source in front of the mic, omnidirectional mode captures sound from all directions, and figure-8 mode responds from the front and rear while rejecting the sides. With those 3 patterns available from one microphone, the STC-3X Pack can move from solo vocals, spoken word and instrument recording to overhead, room and ensemble applications as the needs of a session change.

3-Stage Filter and Pad Controls Broaden Source Handling

The STC-3X provides linear, 75Hz and 150Hz high-pass filter settings for controlling low-frequency content at the microphone, along with 0dB, -10dB and -20dB pad settings for higher-output sources. Combined with a 125dB maximum SPL rating and 16mV/Pa sensitivity, those controls give the mic flexibility across vocals, instruments, drums, amplifiers and other recording applications.
