Built in collaboration with longtime OCDP artist and Limp Bizkit drummer John Otto, the OCDP USA Custom John Otto signature maple snare drum brings a defining piece of Orange County Drum & Percussion history into the brand’s modern relaunch. Made in the USA and limited to just 50 pieces, this 14x6" signature snare pairs a substantial 12-ply maple shell with seven 1/4" vents for the powerful, articulate response associated with OCDP’s vented custom designs. A custom graffiti wrap developed with John gives the drum its unmistakable visual identity, while die-cast hoops, Sharktooth lugs and a proprietary OCDP throw-off reinforce its custom-shop character. Each snare also features an individually numbered sticker inside the shell and includes a signed certificate of authenticity, underscoring the personal connection between John and an instrument built for live performance, recording and collection.

12-Ply Maple Shell Delivers Power and Articulation

Forming the nucleus of the John Otto signature snare is a 12-ply maple shell designed for a powerful, articulate voice suited to amplified rock music. Seven 1/4" vents give the shell a more immediate, aggressive response while directly referencing the vented snare designs that became part of OCDP’s custom-shop identity. Combined with 45-degree bearing edges, the thick maple construction supports focused attack and projection for backbeats, accents and detailed snare work. It is a configuration that reflects both John’s hard-hitting performance environment and the distinctive construction associated with classic OCDP snares.

Signature Artwork and OCDP Hardware Define the Design

The snare’s custom graffiti wrap was developed with John, giving the limited-production instrument a visual identity tied directly to its signature artist. Chrome hardware complements the artwork, while die-cast hoops provide a solid playing surface and controlled response. OCDP Sharktooth lugs bring another recognizable element of the brand’s custom aesthetic, joined by a proprietary OCDP throw-off and OCDP-branded heads. As the drummer for Limp Bizkit, John Otto helped define the rhythmic foundation of a band that became synonymous with the late-1990s and early-2000s nu-metal movement. The Return of Orange County Drum & Percussion

Born out of Southern California’s underground custom drum scene, Orange County Drum & Percussion became one of the most recognizable boutique drum builders of the 1990s and early 2000s. Known for bold finishes, distinctive hardware and kits built for drummers who wanted to stand out on stage, OCDP earned a loyal following among influential artists across rock and alternative music, including 311, Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, Foo Fighters, NOFX, Slipknot and The Offspring. Relaunched in 2026 by Guitar Center to coincide with the brand’s 35th anniversary, OCDP returns with a product lineup inspired by its original custom shop designs while introducing updated builds for today’s drummers. Guided by founder Daniel Jensen and longtime OCDP artist Adrian Young of No Doubt, the new collection carries forward the visual identity and stage-driven attitude that defined the brand, reimagined for a new generation of drummers.
