Larger Snare and Ride Pads for Authentic Feel

All the pads on the TD-17KVX feature Roland’s famous mesh heads, unbeaten in their realism and precision. But what’s special is the pairing of snare and ride. The upgraded PDX-12 snare pad is not only wider, but also built with a lower profile. This design mimics the shallowness of an acoustic snare hoop. Rim shots feel just right. The ride cymbal is expanded, too. It contains three trigger zones—bell, bow, edge. Some of the most subtle playing happens between the snare and ride. This e-kit makes it possible.

Built Around a Big Brain

The Roland TD-17 module takes features from the flagship TD-50. This begins with the revamped library of 310 sounds. Each sound is selected from the library of the TD-50 to create 50 preset kits. And, for the first time at this price level, the TD-17 allows players to import their own sounds. There’s space to design another 50 custom user kits, using those built-in and imported samples. Once created, these kits can play in 25 different “rooms” to adjust the ambience. Dial in 30 multi-effects to create unique combinations of sounds. Tune the drums freely. The results can be stored in the library for later tweaking.

Easy Connectivity With Inputs, Outputs and Bluetooth

Roland designed the TD-17KVX to combine quality and flexibility. All the essential ports and jacks are on the back. This includes two extra trigger inputs to add more pads, stereo audio outputs, MIDI out, USB, Mix In, headphone jack and more. But the real game changer is Bluetooth audio and MIDI. Connect to the kit via a smartphone or computer and play along to any audio. This makes it easy to record with backing tracks, or just jam to some favorite songs. It’s also handy for online lessons.

Coaching Tools to Learn and Improve
