Novation FLpad MIDI Pad Controller

Turn FL Studio into an instrument you can play, sequence and shape with both hands. Co-developed with Image-Line, the Novation FLpad grid controller centers the production workflow around 64 RGB-backlit, velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch, providing expressive control for beatmaking, melodic performance and step sequencing. Trigger samples directly from the Channel Rack, sequence as many as four instruments simultaneously, finger drum, slice samples and create or edit Patterns without constantly returning to the mouse. Dedicated transport, Channel Rack and mode controls keep essential FL Studio functions within reach, while USB bus power and a slim 9.46" x 9.46" x 0.69" design make FLpad easy to integrate into desktop and mobile production setups. A six-month trial of FL Studio Producer Edition plus additional instruments, effects and Melodics lessons provides a substantial software package for taking ideas from the first beat through a complete production.

Velocity-Sensitive Pads Add Expression to Every Performance

The 8 x 8 grid responds to playing dynamics and supports polyphonic aftertouch, giving finger drummers and melodic players more expressive control over their performances. Dedicated layouts for FPC, Slicex and Fruity Slicer make it easy to play drums and sliced material directly from the pads, while Note mode turns the grid into a melodic surface for basslines, chords and leads. Notes can be played chromatically or locked to a selected scale, allowing musicians to approach the controller according to their playing style while keeping hands-on interaction central to the creative process.

Sequence Four Instruments and Shape Every Note

Sequencer View lets producers create and edit melodies, basslines, chord progressions and drum patterns across as many as four Channel Rack instruments simultaneously. The color-coded grid provides immediate visual feedback as parts develop, while direct access to FL Studio's Graph Editor puts parameters such as velocity, pitch and note repeats under hardware control. A dedicated Pattern view makes it easy to create, select, clear and duplicate Patterns, and Channel Rack Mixer mode transforms the grid into fader-style controls for balancing levels without leaving the controller.

Dedicated Controls Keep FL Studio Moving

Seven Mode buttons join dedicated Page and Channel Rack/Octave controls to streamline navigation through different stages of a project. Hardware transport functions provide direct access to Play, Stop, Record, Score Log, Undo, Redo, Clear and Tempo, with additional integration for functions such as quantization and Channel Rack navigation. Novation Components expands the controller beyond its factory workflow by supporting custom layouts for FL Studio as well as other compatible software and hardware, allowing FLpad to take on additional control duties as a production setup grows.

USB-Powered Design Fits Desktop and Mobile Production

Weighing just 1.83 lb. without accessories, the controller combines a larger performance surface with a slim profile that's easy to move between studio, home and mobile setups. USB-C provides both data connectivity and bus power, eliminating the need for a separate external power supply, while class-compliant operation supports compatible Windows, macOS and iOS systems. A Kensington Lock slot adds an option for securing the unit in educational, shared or permanent workspaces, and the Novation FLpad includes a USB-C-to-USB-A cable for connection to compatible devices.

Included Software Expands the Beatmaking Palette

A six-month FL Studio Producer Edition trial includes more than 100 instruments and effects, unlimited audio clips, stem separation, loops, samples and presets for building productions around the controller. Additional software includes GForce Oberheim SEM, OB-EZ and AXXESS synthesizers, Klevgrand LUXE processing and Slammer drums, plus the UVI Prime 8+ drum machine. Interactive Melodics lessons provide guided practice for developing finger-drumming and pad-performance skills specifically with FLpad.
