Overview

The ProFX series v2 sounds better than ever and supplies convenient features at every knob, fader, input and output. This is the ProFX12v2. It features 6 extremely low-noise Mackie Vita mic preamps designed to add life to any input, as well as the ReadyFX effects engine with 16 great-sounding effects including reverbs, delays and choruses.

Live applications
A 7-band graphic EQ is available on the master output, switchable for tuning mains or monitors, and an aux output is perfect for driving a monitor mix. There is a 3-band EQ (80 Hz, 2.5 kHz and 12 kHz) on all three input channels. The input scheme features six XLR inputs with TRS option, as well as dual 1/4 in. stereo input channels. A built-in USB interface allows recorded music to be played between sets, and you can even use it to bus your mix to a recording device. Insert, 100 Hz low-cut filter and 48V phantom power on all mic channels. 60mm faders.

You can directly connect guitar, bass and other instruments via Hi-Z input or connect a microphone and take advantage of the Vita preamp. It features a 100 Hz low-cut filter and 48V phantom power on all mic channels, along with a stereo RCA tape I/O with input level control. A headphone output with separate level control gives your engineer a second point of reference. The ProFX8v2 also has Balanced XLR and balanced/unbalance 1/4 in. main outputs, an FX mute with remote control via footswitch, and a break switch that mutes all channels for music playback between sets.

Built like a Mackie
Mackie 's legendary Built-Like-A-Tank design is reflected in the solid steel chassis, tough ABS side protection, and quality posts and knobs combine to protect your investment. Rugged and roadworthy are two of the most common adsjectives used to describe Mackie equipment. With mixers, that is a critical attribute. For international traveling, the ProFX12v2 includes a robust internal multi-voltage power supply.

I purchased (2) of these units. I have a vocal group and also DJ. I love the sound and ease of use. However, I lost a channel and effects on one mixer. I had it repaired at an authorize repair facility. Within two months lost same channel. I took back two additional times for the same problem. This past week two channels on my other Profx12 went down it has cost more to keep them repaired than they cost new. Not sure what to do. I love the mixer. Just keeps losing channels. The reason I gave it a 3 star is due to durability.

Comments about Mackie ProFX12v2 12-Channel Professional FX Mixer with USB:

I bought this and donated it to our church praise team. Within literally six hours of use over the course of two weeks it simply died in the middle of a song. Church setting with low volume, 6 vocal mics and one acoustic guitar input. Two experienced pros couldn't determine the cause of the failure. It's going back. Hopefully the Yamaha I wanted will be available.

I've had this mixer about 2 years and have had zero issues. The controls are straight forward. The preamps are quiet and the sound quality transparent and uncolored.

Comments about Mackie ProFX12v2 12-Channel Professional FX Mixer with USB:

Very poor performance. Sound production and quality was sub-par. Two of the equalizer keys broke within the first month. Channels produced high noise very easily. The on-board mixes are not very good and would have been nice if one could edit those mixes. Most importantly, gain controls were unstable, and suppressed other channels on its own.

Comments about Mackie ProFX12v2 12-Channel Professional FX Mixer with USB:

After less than 2 years of very light use, the unit has godd from good to useless. The poor quality input pots are all crunchy, creating awful crackles in volume. Cant blame the guitar center rep who suggested the protection policy, but I've never needed one before. What a piece of junk.

Comments about Mackie ProFX12v2 12-Channel Professional FX Mixer with USB:

Bought one of these based on my good experience with older products from Mackie, expecting clear clean sound. Mixer was defective and had to return it. Then I checked another one in good condition and found there's no clean sound anymore as expected from this brand (at least from this product model). Whoever who design this mixing console never worked in Live Sound. Could not understand why the headphones output is not linked to the Master output/fader. Absolutely weird.

Comments about Mackie ProFX12v2 12-Channel Professional FX Mixer with USB:

I bought this mixer to use for at home rehearsals. I am using a set of ALTO TS12 powered speakers with the Mixer. At first when we first started to use it, we had no problems. But over time the gain potentiometers developed alot of noisy static when turned. The feel of many of the controls are flimsy and cheap. Also the effects are not usable due to some other noisy malfunction with the amount of effect on return channel...the more you add the noisier it gets with a dull whistling sound. I filed a claim to have unit serviced and it is still under warranty. I don't recommend this monstrosity.

I bouth mine about three years ago now and have been very happy with it's performance and use. No issues at all and the two 12 inch speakers that is paired to it are quite light and easily transportable. I'm surprised with the other reviewer having a dfective copy. That's a problem with any electronic device, even with iPhones or Laptops, there is a small percentage that will fail upon use.
