Understanding the roots of Laguna guitars takes us back to the year 2000, when Keith Brawley produced a series of guitars and electric bass bearing his name. His instruments were loaded with great features and had outstanding build quality, compared by Brawley himself to the guitar equivalent of a luxury car. Unfortunately, Brawley's distributor ran into hard times and his line of guitars went out of production.

That's when the story became a personal one for us. Recognizing what Keith Brawley had to offer, Guitar Center brought him into the family as our vice president of guitar merchandising, a position that he went on to hold for five years. Guitar Center bought Brawley's guitar designs and brought them back onto the market as Laguna guitars. Faithful to the original Brawley designs, Laguna brings back the great fit and finish that set the original instruments apart.

Today, Laguna's guitars are designed in southern California, the same region that brought the very first electric guitars onto the scene decades ago. It's fitting, then, that they have a few different electric guitars to choose from, along with their LB200 bass featuring dual pickups and the LD1 'Little Brat' 3/4 acoustic guitar, with a compact size that makes it great for students or travel.

The flagship guitar in Laguna's lineup is the LE924, which comes loaded with professional hardware including high-output DiMarzio pickups and a double-locking tremolo. The LE924 is a real show-stealer that will sound great with your favorite amp, and the offset double-cutaway ash body looks amazing on the stage with its AAA maple top.

Laguna's selection of guitars offers something for everyone: if you're a beginner, look at the LE50 short-scale electric or the LD1 3/4 acoustic guitars. Intermediate players will sound great with the Ultimate Rock, which you can get in a bundle with an amp, case and accessories for a complete all-in-one kit. For the professional guitarist, there is the LE924 and, for bassists of any skill level, the LB200. Laguna instruments have a history that Guitar Center is proud to be a part of, and any of these guitars is a great companion to have at your side onstage or in the studio.
