H2 Audio Helios 0011 Mic Pre/EQ

Few pieces of studio hardware carry the history of the original Helios channel modules, which helped shape recordings by Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, The Who and countless others. The H2 Audio Helios 0011 mic pre/EQ recreates the channel module from the legendary Helios consoles of the 1960s, with H2 Audio's Al Sutton and Tim Mead sourcing components and replicating Dick Swettenham's original design. Its Helios 2128 preamp circuit provides 70dB of gain in 5dB increments and pairs with a replica Lustaphone input transformer based on a component central to the earliest Helios preamps. A -20dB pad and balanced line input provide additional flexibility for modern recording workflows.

Classic Helios EQ With Modern Output Capability

The inductor-based 3-band EQ combines selectable low- and mid-frequency controls with a fixed 10kHz high-frequency section. Phase control, EQ bypass and selectable 40Hz and 80Hz high-pass filter points provide additional control over the signal path. H2 Audio also adds an output amplifier and output transformer of original Helios design, allowing the 0011 to drive a 600-ohm load up to 25dB before clipping. Combining the recreated 2128 preamp, replica Lustaphone input transformer and inductor-based EQ in a single-channel module, the H2 Audio Helios 0011 Mic Pre/EQ brings the architecture of a classic Helios console channel into a modern modular studio system.
