Gibson works with its suppliers to source premium materials with an eye toward the future of guitar making, then pairs distinctive woods to help shape each instrument’s sound, feel and visual character. Details such as figured maple tops give individual guitars a look as unique as a fingerprint.
Steel
At Gibson’s Nashville craftories, wood and steel come together through time-honored methods and historic machinery.. Rope binding and original tooling from Kalamazoo remain part of the process, including the ES laminate press that has helped shape Gibson instruments for generations. Each step reflects Gibson’s commitment to the enduring methods and attention to detail behind its most iconic instruments.
