Description

Some recordings capture a performance—others capture the feeling behind it. The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Gen 4 USB-C audio interface is designed to capture both with upgraded preamps, intelligent gain control and studio-grade conversion in a compact desktop format. Featuring two ultralow-noise microphone preamps with up to 69dB of gain, dual Hi-Z instrument inputs and high-resolution 24-bit/192kHz conversion, the Scarlett 2i2 delivers detailed recordings across vocals, guitars, synths and more. Auto Gain and Clip Safe technology simplify level management, while re-engineered Air modes add console-inspired character and presence. Whether you're recording demos, producing full sessions or livestreaming content, the Scarlett 2i2 provides a streamlined workflow with professional sound quality at the center.

Dual Scarlett Preamps With Expanded Gain Range

The Scarlett 2i2 USB-C audio interface (4th generation) features two of Focusrite’s most refined and lowest-noise microphone preamps to date, delivering up to 69dB of gain for a wide range of microphones and recording sources. Designed for clarity and accuracy, these preamps capture everything from intimate vocal performances to louder instruments with balanced detail and low distortion. Front-panel combo inputs also allow seamless switching between microphone, line and instrument sources for flexible session setup.

Auto Gain and Clip Safe for Reliable Recording Levels

Built-in Auto Gain and Clip Safe technology help simplify the recording process by automatically managing input levels in real time. Auto Gain quickly sets optimal levels for microphones and instruments, while Clip Safe continuously monitors incoming signals and adjusts gain if clipping is detected. Together, these features reduce the risk of distorted takes and make it easier to focus on performance rather than technical setup.

Air Modes and Hi-Z Inputs for Enhanced Tone

Two re-engineered Air modes provide additional tonal shaping inspired by classic studio consoles. Presence mode enhances high-frequency clarity and detail, helping vocals and acoustic instruments sit forward in a mix, while Harmonic Drive adds subtle saturation and midrange richness for added character. Dedicated Hi-Z instrument inputs preserve the natural feel and response of guitars plugged directly into the interface, making them ideal for amp simulators and DI recording workflows.

Professional Conversion and Monitoring

With converters derived from Focusrite’s RedNet studio systems, the Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen delivers up to 120dB dynamic range for high-detail recording and playback. A redesigned headphone amplifier provides increased output and improved clarity for both low- and high-impedance headphones, while balanced line outputs support accurate monitoring through studio speakers. This refined audio path helps maintain consistency during tracking, editing and mixing sessions.

Flexible Workflow with Software and USB-C Connectivity

USB-C connectivity and class-compliant operation make the 2i2 easy to integrate into modern Mac and PC production setups. Loopback functionality allows you to capture audio from applications directly into your DAW for streaming, podcasting and sampling workflows. Included software such as Ableton Live Lite, Pro Tools Intro+, Cubase LE and the Hitmaker Expansion bundle provides a complete starting point for recording and production. Combining intelligent workflow features, detailed audio capture and compact desktop design, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Gen 4 USB-C audio interface offers a reliable studio centerpiece for musicians, producers and creators alike.
