CRANBORNE AUDIO C.A.S.T. Intro Audio Distribution Bundle

Replace bundles of analog cables with a streamlined system that puts recording and monitoring connections exactly where they're needed. The Cranborne Audio C.A.S.T. Intro Bundle provides an entry point into the C.A.S.T. ecosystem with an N8 distribution hub, N22 passive breakout box, N22H breakout box with reference-grade headphone amplification, an N8 rackmount kit and two 32.8' Cat 6 cables. C.A.S.T. uses standard shielded network cable to transport four channels of balanced analog audio over a single connection, simplifying runs between control rooms, live rooms, vocal booths and other recording spaces. With support for distances up to 330' and 48V phantom power in both directions, the bundle provides the essential hardware for building a flexible analog audio network without digital conversion or complicated configuration.

N8 Creates a Central Hub for C.A.S.T. Connectivity

The included N8 converts eight analog inputs and eight analog outputs on TASCAM-wired DB25 connections into four bidirectional C.A.S.T. ports. Each connection carries two input and two output paths simultaneously, allowing recording signals and monitor returns to travel over the same network cable. Up to four compatible breakout boxes can connect to the hub for 16 channels of audio routing, with the N22 and N22H providing two ready-to-use endpoints in this package. The supplied rackmount hardware also allows the distribution hub to be integrated neatly into a 19" studio or mobile equipment rack.

N22 and N22H Put I/O Near the Performer

The passive N22 can be placed in a live room, hallway, vocal booth or other recording location to relocate microphone and speaker connections away from the control room. For sessions requiring local headphone monitoring, the N22H combines C.A.S.T. connectivity with a reference-grade headphone amplifier, allowing a performer, microphone and headphones to share one remote recording position. A mic signal can travel toward the studio while the performer's monitor mix returns through the same Cat cable, making the breakout box particularly useful for quickly creating a vocal or overdub station. The N22H's required 9V power supply is included.

Plug-and-Play Analog Distribution Simplifies Studio Wiring

C.A.S.T. remains analog throughout the signal path, requiring no network setup or digital conversion to transport audio between compatible devices. The N8 and N22 operate passively, while only the N22H headphone amplifier requires its included power supply. Two supplied 32.8' Cat 6 cables with Cranborne Audio cable ties provide the connections needed to start deploying the system immediately, and longer shielded Cat 5e, Cat 6 or Cat 7 runs can extend compatible devices up to 330'. With the ability to add further C.A.S.T.-equipped products such as Camden EC1 and Camden EC2, the Cranborne Audio C.A.S.T. Intro Bundle provides a scalable starting point for cleaner studio, stage and mobile-recording cabling.
