Description
The TAS1E Element TransAcoustic concert acoustic-electric guitar delivers Yamaha’s innovative TransAcoustic technology in a streamlined Element design built for modern acoustic players. Featuring built-in reverb and chorus effects that resonate naturally through the guitar body, the TAS1E creates immersive ambience without the need for amps, pedals or external gear. A comfortable concert body provides balanced tone and focused projection, while a spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides delivers warmth and clarity. Designed for songwriting, practice and performance, the TAS1E Element offers a self-contained acoustic-electric guitar experience that blends traditional tone with Yamaha’s next-generation TransAcoustic innovation.
TransAcoustic Technology With Built-in Reverb and Chorus
The TAS1E Element features Yamaha’s TransAcoustic SYSTEM70 technology, allowing reverb and chorus effects to resonate directly through the guitar body. An internal actuator vibrates the instrument itself, blending ambient effects with your natural acoustic tone while preserving dynamic response. Onboard controls make it easy to dial in subtle ambience or more pronounced effects depending on your playing style. This self-contained design eliminates the need for external gear, making the TAS1E ideal for songwriting, rehearsal and unplugged performance.
Concert Body for Comfort and Articulation
The concert body shape offers a comfortable playing experience with balanced tonal response and focused projection. Compared to larger dreadnought designs, the compact body provides improved ergonomics while maintaining clarity and articulation. This makes the TAS1E well suited for fingerstyle playing, light strumming and dynamic songwriting applications.
Spruce and Mahogany Tonewood Combination
A spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides produces a balanced acoustic voice with warmth, clarity and dynamic response. This classic tonewood pairing supports a wide range of playing styles, from delicate fingerpicking to rhythmic strumming. The TAS1E Element maintains articulation and projection while delivering the natural acoustic tone players expect.
Mahogany Neck and Walnut Fingerboard for Smooth Playability
The TAS1E features a mahogany neck paired with a walnut fingerboard for comfortable, responsive playability. This combination supports extended playing sessions while maintaining a smooth feel across the fretboard. Streamlined controls and thoughtful design keep the instrument easy to use without interrupting performance.
A Streamlined TransAcoustic Guitar for Modern Players
With built-in reverb and chorus, comfortable concert body design and self-contained performance capabilities, the TAS1E is built for players who want flexibility without additional gear. Songwriters, buskers and aspiring performers will appreciate its simplicity and inspiring sound. Combining Yamaha craftsmanship with TransAcoustic SYSTEM70 innovation, the TAS1E Element delivers a versatile acoustic solution for modern musicians.

CALL ME CRAZY! 🤪🤪🤪

Call me crazy, but I know a good guitar and a great value when I see one. In this case, I already bought two of the three TAS1E's in Guitar Center's inventory. I'm a big Yamaha fan anyway because it seems, no matter the price point, you get a lot for your money. I have more expensive guitars, including a Japanese built AC5R that holds it's own compared to my Martin, my Taylor's and my Rainsong, so when I saw my first TAS1E hanging in the acoustic room at my local Johnson City, New York Guitar Center, I had to give it a try. AMAZING!!! Then, I tried the Transacoustic features (reverb and chorus) and I knew I'd just found my next gig guitar. Three days later I used it in the first of many gigs to come. Not only did it sound great, but, with the Transacoustic features, I was able to leave my twelve string home. Now, I could say more about this terrific guitar, but I've already said it in my two previous reviews below this one. Playing in a band or solo, I always bring a backup guitar. This is a great gig guitar, so I bought another, and, what-the-heck, went for the hat trick, just because! If you're a serious musician, playing in a band, or just for yourself, try this TAS1E. You'll be glad you did.
SO GREAT, I BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE!!!

I wrote the review just below this one on the purchase of my first TAS1E. I was so impressed with this guitar that I bought a second. I bought the first less than a month ago and already used it for my last three gigs. In fact, it's going to be difficult to go back to using my Taylor's, my Martin or my Rainsong, because this TAS1E is so versatile. The rest of my band was blown away; our lead guitarist asked me if I was trying to take his job! That's how amazing the Transacoustic feature is. I used to use a twelve string for some of my songs, with this (these) I can leave that guitar home. Aside from its fantastic sound, plugged or unplugged, the guitar is easy to play, it stays in tune, and the quality in its build is hard to believe! Also, it's a beautiful guitar; my first one is the natural and this one is the marine blue. They're both beautiful guitars, but the blue one is awesome looking! I continue to be amazed at the value you receive from Yamaha; all at a reasonable price. Trust me; BUY THIS GUITAR!!! You'll be very happy you did.

Once upon a time, I had myself convinced that the only guitars to consider were Taylors, Martins, Gibsons and Rainsong. Then I pulled down a Yamaha FGX3 off the rack at my local Johnson City, NY Guitar Center and I was amazed! The sound, the playability and the quality for the price blew me away. All these qualities hold true for this Yamaha TAS1E that I purchased yesterday. Now I have three Yamahas: an AC5R cut away, an FGX3, and now this TAS1E to go along with myTaylors , my Martin and my Rainsong. It's hard to fathom getting so much, for such a reasonable price. The quality in its design and appearance, its playability and voice, and then you throw in the Transacoustic's Reverb and Chorus and wow!! This is my least expensive Yamaha and yet I'm just as happy with it as my other two, including my Japanese-built AC5R. In fact, I have a three hour gig tomorrow night and I'm planning to use it. BTW it comes with a really decent/protective soft case.
Fantastic guitar!

I returned a Martin guitar at this price point. The Yamaha has far superior playability and tone I liked it better than the Taylor guitars in this price point. I don't like the Taylor pickups. The Yamaha has a nice bonus of chorus and delay built in even when you don't plug it in.
