A solid-sounding spruce top paired with sapele back and sides produces the clear, balanced voice acoustic and folk players expect, while forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing boosts resonance and projection. Add Mitchell’s Comfort-Fit neck, dependable hardware and a striking gloss finish, and you have a full-size acoustic guitar that’s ready for lessons, practice sessions and everyday inspiration.

Classic Spruce and Sapele Pairing for Rich, Balanced Tone

At the heart of the D150 is a proven tonewood combination built for expressive acoustic performance. The spruce top delivers bright articulation and strong dynamic range, helping chords ring clearly and single-note lines speak with definition. Sapele back and sides contribute warmth and focused midrange presence, rounding out the top-end clarity with musical depth. The dreadnought body shape amplifies these qualities with bold projection, making this Mitchell acoustic guitar equally at home during learning sessions, folk strumming or casual live performance.

Forward-Shifted X-Bracing for Enhanced Resonance

Unlike many beginner acoustic guitars, the Motion D150 features forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing—a design typically found on more premium instruments. By positioning the bracing closer to the soundhole and carefully shaping it for flexibility, Mitchell allows the spruce top to vibrate more freely. The result is stronger bass response, improved projection and a more open, responsive feel. Whether you're working through lessons or expanding your playing style, the D150 delivers the lively acoustic voice players look for in a quality dreadnought.

Comfort-Fit Okoume Neck and Smooth HPL Fingerboard

A comfortable neck is essential for any guitar designed to support learning and long practice sessions. The D150’s okoume neck features Mitchell’s Comfort-Fit C profile, shaped to sit naturally in the hand and promote relaxed movement across the fretboard. Its satin urethane finish reduces friction for smoother position shifts, while the durable HPL fingerboard with offset pearloid dot inlays provides clear visual reference points for developing players. With its full 25" scale length and 20 frets, the D150 offers familiar acoustic feel in a design that remains inviting and easy to play.

Durable Mitchell Hardware for Reliable Performance

The Mitchell Motion D150 is equipped with dependable hardware designed to keep your focus on playing, not constant adjustments. Sealed chrome tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio provide precise, stable tuning for consistent acoustic performance. A purpleheart bridge paired with a compensated synthetic bone saddle helps maximize sustain and intonation, while the synthetic bone nut and black bridge pins add long-term durability. The high-gloss finish protects the body and gives the guitar a refined visual presence that stands out without feeling overstated.

A Full-Size Dreadnought Built for Growth

Blending approachable value with quality construction, the Mitchell Motion D150 dreadnought acoustic guitar is built to grow alongside your playing. It’s welcoming enough for beginners working through their first lessons, yet refined enough to remain satisfying as skills develop. Whether you're practicing at home, exploring folk styles or preparing for your next performance, the D150 delivers the balanced tone, comfortable feel and reliable performance players expect from a well-built Mitchell acoustic guitar.
