The American Professional II Series | Fender
Description
The Fender American Professional II Stratocaster HSS rosewood fingerboard electric guitar combines the timeless Stratocaster design with modern innovations for today's discerning players. Featuring a lightweight alder body, this model delivers a resonant and balanced tonal foundation that complements its versatile electronics. The neck and middle positions boast freshly revised V-Mod II single-coil pickups, offering enhanced warmth and articulation. A revolutionary DoubleTap humbucker in the bridge adds bold, high-output power while maintaining clarity, perfect for lead work and heavier styles. The upgraded 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with cold-rolled steel block increases sustain and clarity, adding a touch of sparkle to its tone. With premium features like a sculpted neck heel and smoothly rolled fingerboard edges, this guitar offers exceptional comfort and performance for players seeking both tradition and innovation.
DoubleTap Humbucker for Dynamic Tone Control
This Stratocaster features Fender's DoubleTap humbucker in the bridge position, delivering a bold, full-bodied tone for high-output applications. With its innovative design, the humbucker provides thick, punchy lows and crisp highs ideal for driving lead lines. The DoubleTap coil-splitting function, accessible via the push/pull tone control, transitions the humbucker into a single-coil mode, offering brighter, glassy tones with reduced output. This versatility allows players to seamlessly switch between aggressive rock tones and classic Strat chime, making this pickup configuration perfect for tonal exploration. The result is a bridge pickup that excels in both power and precision.
Upgraded V-Mod II Pickups for Enhanced Articulation
The neck and middle positions on this Fender electric guitar are equipped with V-Mod II single-coil pickups, refined to deliver classic Stratocaster chime with added clarity and warmth. These pickups excel in capturing subtle nuances, ensuring every note resonates with articulate definition. Whether playing clean passages or pushing into overdrive, the V-Mod II pickups respond dynamically to pick attack and volume changes. Combined with a treble-bleed circuit, this setup ensures high-end sparkle is preserved even at lower volume settings. Together, these pickups provide the perfect balance of vintage charm and modern refinement for a wide range of tonal applications.
Stratocaster's Sculpted Neck Heel and Satin Finish for Comfort
The American Professional II Stratocaster is designed with a sculpted neck heel, providing effortless access to higher frets for intricate solos and complex chord voicings. The satin urethane finish on the deep C-shaped maple neck eliminates stickiness, ensuring fluid movement during extended playing sessions. Rolled fingerboard edges add to the ergonomic feel, while the rosewood fingerboard offers a natural warmth to the guitar's tone. With 22 narrow-tall frets, players can achieve precise bends and accurate fretting across the instrument. This combination of features makes the neck design ideal for both technical and expressive playing styles.
Fender's Advanced Tremolo System for Stability and Sustain
This model features Fender's upgraded 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge, engineered for smooth operation and improved tonal transfer. The cold-rolled steel block increases sustain and clarity, adding a subtle sparkle to the guitar's overall tone. Block saddles enhance string stability, while the short-post locking tuners and TUSQ nut ensure reliable tuning during heavy tremolo use. The chamfered tremolo block further improves resonance, making vibrato effects more expressive and controlled. These premium components create a tremolo system that supports dynamic playing without sacrificing tonal integrity or stability.
Engineered for Players Seeking Modern Precision
The Fender American Professional II Stratocaster HSS rosewood fingerboard electric guitar offers a refined playing experience with advanced features like its DoubleTap humbucker, V-Mod II single-coil pickups and sculpted neck design. I bought the American ProII Strat during the pandemic madness so it was almost two years before I was able to play it in a band setting. Since then it became my main instrument (over a tele, a Les Paul and a guild). The main reason, of course, is the versatility — it fits with any genre. Also, just as important, the classics Strat tones so useful in playing barroom rock, oldies, country, even doo-wop. The push-push feature gets used a lot when I play, especially songs with great rhythms like Beatles, Tom Petty, Cars etc…

I just play for my own enjoyment, and this Strat is not only beautifully made, it's made to Shred. As soon as I plugged it in, I knew I was in for some serious shredding. If they made a camera for your fingers, you'd see the frets whizzing past like the sleepers of the track, as traveled by the express train. So much fun, but wait, you're ripping out some serious stuff. The Les Paul, and Telly that I purchased at Guitar Center, each let you know they're serious, The Les Paul looks like it should be kept at the Guggenheim, checked out only for the NY Philharmonic or the Met Opera, just Gorgeous with a Spectacular voice. The Telecaster is built for war, the secret weapon, strap on a Telly, and Slay them. But this Strat is ready for the Decathlon, you're a Gold Medal Winner, and you're wearing a grin that could be seen from the Stratosphere. My new Stratocaster in that Super Sleek Mercury is Wild. When I took it out of its case in my Den, this is the first time my wife didn't say, "Another Guitar!?!?!?" I almost heard her say "I Get IT!'

I am Obsessed with these two brands, so much so that I'm building a 59 Les Paul Semi-Hollow Tribute Guitar, with all Vintage Authentic parts. I was born in 59 that's why I chose this one. And besides it's a Classic Sexy Beauty, The time sent sanding, carving, and sanding is the ultimate Zen expeirence. Next build will be a Fender. Building one you gain an intimate knowledge of every component.

Gorgeous guitar. It feels and acts beautiful, the tone is wonderful. The only con would be that if you are new to strats - the middle pickup may come in the way and some folks (famously Richie Blackmore) recommended pushing it out of the way. Otherwise, it's a beaut!

I've had considerably good luck buying from GC's used selection. So when I spotted this model, at an incredible savings, I had to get some details. I called the GC in Springfield, Mo. and talked to Joseph. He was able to get the guitar in hand and confirm it's playability and general condition. Even though it sounded too good to be true, I ordered it. I already had the SSS Pro2 with the roasted pine body so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. If there was any disappointment it was the fact that I didn't have to do anything but tune the guitar, plug in, and explore. I generally look forward to making all the little tweaks required to get the instrument set to my preferences, but this model was ready to go. This, being my first HSS Strat ever, is going to require some time getting used to. But, that's life.

Usually I play fingerstyle, and I find I can play finger picking patterns faster on this guitar than my other guitars. I also like the coil-splitting feature on the humbucker and the different timbres it offers.
