Hybrid Optics for Beam, Spot and Wash

Precision optics define how the Protégé XS performs across beam, spot and wash applications. Its motorized zoom spans from a tight 4.8° beam for focused aerial impact to a broad 38° wash for expansive stage coverage, while motorized focus maintains crisp projection at any throw distance. Two overlay-capable prisms—a 6-facet circular and 6-facet linear—expand beam layering and mid-air effects, and a heavy frost filter softens output when smooth wash transitions are required. An animation wheel mounted on a movable arm introduces fluid motion to GOBO projections, giving designers dynamic texture without increasing fixture count.

Dual Color and GOBO Systems

Creative control starts with two independent color wheels, each loaded with eight vibrant dichroic options including CTO 3200K and CTB 9000K filters for precise white balance. The dual GOBO system includes one rotating wheel with seven interchangeable glass gobos and one static wheel with eleven fixed patterns, including beam reducers for tight projection control. Combined with smooth electronic dimming and 1–10 Hz strobe capability, the Protégé XS offers layered visual depth and bold statement looks. The result is a compact fixture capable of delivering intricate projection, saturated color and punchy beam effects from a single head.

Touring-Ready Movement and Modern Control

The Protégé XS is built for reliable performance in professional environments. Three-phase motors provide fast smooth pan and tilt movement with selectable 540°/630° pan and 270° tilt, plus optional 360° continuous pan rotation for dynamic effects. Control options include DMX with RDM, 5-pin XLR connectivity and integrated Aria X2 wireless management for cable-free configuration, alongside NFC setup and a 180° reversible full-color LCD display with six-button touch interface. Rugged pan and tilt locks protect the fixture during transport, while locking power connections support dependable operation on stage or on tour.
