When serious brightness is required without stepping up to a full flagship footprint, the ADJ Protégé XM delivers. Powered by a 350W white LED engine producing up to 16,000 lumens at a native 8000K color temperature, this professional moving head spot is engineered to cut through demanding stage environments with punch and clarity. Precision optics and a 3.7°–43° motorized zoom enable seamless transitions from tight aerial beams to wide textured spot projections, making it equally effective for dynamic beam work and detailed GOBO looks. Built as the successor to ADJ’s popular Focus Spot 6Z, the Protégé XM combines high-output performance, refined optics and advanced color control in a compact fixture designed for medium-sized stages, houses of worship, venues and production applications.

Advanced Color Mixing and Effects Engine

Creative flexibility is central to the Protégé XM’s design. Its disc-based CMY color mixing system enables smooth saturated blends, while dual color wheels—each loaded with nine dichroic filters—provide instant access to bold colors, specialty hues and a dedicated 2700K CTO option for warm white output. Two rotating GOBO wheels, each featuring seven interchangeable glass patterns, expand projection and texture possibilities for layered visuals and mid-air effects. Dual 6-facet prisms (linear and circular) can be overlaid for complex refraction patterns, while the animation wheel and variable frost filters allow designers to move from crisp projection to soft diffusion with precision.

Fast, Precise Movement and Tour-Ready Design

Designed for professional touring and installation environments, the Protégé XM features three-phase motors for smooth responsive pan and tilt movement. Pan ranges from 540° or 630°, with an additional 360° continuous pan rotation option for dynamic movement effects, while tilt spans 270°. Integrated pan and tilt locks help protect the fixture during transport and setup. The compact housing and balanced 48.5 lb. weight simplify rigging and deployment while maintaining the rugged build quality required for demanding production schedules.

Comprehensive Control and Modern Connectivity

The Protégé XM integrates easily into contemporary lighting systems with a full suite of control options. It supports DMX, sACN, Art-Net and RDM protocols via both 5-pin XLR and RJ45 connections and includes ADJ’s Aria X2 wireless management system for cable-free DMX control and remote configuration. NFC-enabled setup and OTA firmware updates streamline installation and maintenance, while the full-color 180° reversible LCD display and six-button touch panel simplify on-site adjustments.
