Description

Bringing two distinct JHS overdrive circuits into one compact enclosure, the JHS Wanderer dual overdrive pedal combines the open, dynamic drive of Morning Glory V4 and the midrange-rich boost and overdrive of NOTAKLÖN with flexible signal routing and gain control. As the first pedal in JHS Pedals' new vertical two-in-one format, the Wanderer features individual input and output jacks that allow each overdrive to operate independently. Use the circuits together as a conventional dual overdrive, or separate them to place other effects between the two drives or integrate them into individual switcher loops. With four selectable gain states and remote switching capabilities, the Wanderer offers versatile drive sounds and extensive pedalboard flexibility in a single enclosure.

Morning Glory and NOTAKLÖN Deliver Two Distinct Overdrives

The Wanderer merges two established JHS designs: the Morning Glory V4, a blues-inspired overdrive known for its transparent, touch-responsive character, and the NOTAKLÖN, a circuit offering clean boost, midrange-rich drive and JHS's Shamrock Mod. Morning Glory V4 provides standard and high-gain modes, with a Bright Cut switch for taming excessive high frequencies in brighter rigs. NOTAKLÖN ranges from clean boost to overdrive, delivering up to +16 dB of clean boost with its Gain control fully counterclockwise. Engaging the Shamrock Mod adds 4 dB of gain, increased midrange and an additional hard-clipping stage. Together, the two circuits offer complementary drive voices with four selectable gain states.

Independent Routing and Remote Switching Expand Flexibility

Using the main input and output lets the Wanderer operate as a conventional dual overdrive, with the center Order toggle selecting whether Morning Glory V4 or NOTAKLÖN comes first in the signal chain. Using the individual FX jacks separates the circuits, allowing other effects to be placed between them or each overdrive to occupy its own switcher loop. In this configuration, the Order toggle is bypassed. Dedicated Red Remote jacks let compatible latching footswitches activate each circuit's alternate gain mode, while switchers with amp-control outputs can access those modes through presets. These options support both straightforward drive stacking and more elaborate pedalboard configurations.

Two Complementary Overdrives in One Compact Pedal

Whether you prefer to stack overdrives for layered gain or control them separately within a switching system, Wanderer adapts to different playing and pedalboard setups. Its independent connections and remotely accessible gain modes offer practical flexibility without requiring two separate enclosures. Bring the complementary voices of Morning Glory V4 and NOTAKLÖN together with the configurable JHS Wanderer dual overdrive pedal.
