Description
The PRS Silver Sky is the result of a close collaboration between Grammy Award-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. Combining reverence for 1963 and 1964 instruments with contemporary references, the PRS Silver Sky delivers the warmth and familiarity of a well-loved guitar with the precision of a brand-new instrument.
Vintage-inspired Neck and Fretboard
The Silver Sky has a maple neck and fretboard designed to Mayer's custom profile, providing a comfortable and fast playing experience. Inlaid with iconic PRS bird inlays, the fretboard is loaded with 22 frets. A 25.5" scale length and 7.25" radius capture the feel of Mayer's favorite vintage guitars.
Specially-voiced 635JM Pickups
The Silver Sky features 635JM single-coil pickups meticulously spec'd by Mayer to achieve a full, round tone with smooth highs. Plug into a tube amp and be rewarded with glassy tones, lush harmonics and outstanding note clarity and definition across the frequency spectrum.
Steel Tremolo and Tuning Stability
The Silver Sky incorporates a steel tremolo optimized for subtle pitch modulation. Set to only go down in pitch per Mayer's request, the tremolo's increased contact with the body boosts the guitar's natural resonance and the signal-to-noise ratio of the pickups. Vintage-style locking tuners with a modified headstock angle keep the Silver Sky in tune through enthusiastic whammy bar use and heavy bends.
Premium Appointments and included Gig Bag
High-quality components like a bone nut, molded metal jack plate and retooled knobs reflect the Silver Sky's boutique pedigree. PRS's double action truss rod is accessible at the headstock for easy neck adjustments. A premium gig bag is included, ideal for transporting this investment-grade instrument.

I bought this guitar and the very next night participated in an extended jam session. We played for hours and I never got tired and worn out from fighting with the guitar. It was extremely easy to play and the varied tones I got from very clean to overdriving the amp's preamp were spot on. Everyone listening were impressed with how good the guitar sounded. Combining this guitar with my PRS McCarty 594, I have all bases covered when it comes to being able to cover every musical style I need to cover.
