collapse expand iconDescription

These limited-edition Zildjian 400th Anniversary acorn tip jazz drum sticks features a design celebrating the birth of jazz music and the role of Zildjian cymbals in that era. During the 1930s to 1950s, Avedis Zildjian was quick to embrace the talented musicians who were leading the jazz movement. Having been discriminated against during his own childhood as an Armenian living in Turkey, Avedis vowed there would be no place for discrimination at the Zildjian Company. He worked closely with African-American artists like Chick Webb and Papa Jo Jones (who helped Avedis develop the hi-hat). During this period of innovation the “paper thin crash,” “ride,” “splash,” “hi-hat,” and “sizzle” cymbals were all developed and named by Avedis. To celebrate this rich time in Zildjian history, the jazz design on this limited-edition 400th Anniversary acorn tip jazz drum stick evokes the collaborative spirit and continuous movement of jazz music.

I love the versatility of these sticks! #sweepstakes

I'm a huge practice pad fan, and this is the perfect stick for that. Also, I am primarily a jazz player. These sticks work very well for swing beats and traditional grip. #sweepstakes

Ok but too light and rear bias balance but good sound

Decent sticks but very light for a 5A. Feels like a thicker 7A. Balance feels a bit rear weighted bias so the front part is a bit too light in feel. But, they do sound good. It takes very good wood to get the right sound. I would like to see a little less rear weighting and a little heavier feel. They are fun to play on but for serious playing I prefer the Vics. I would recommend but in limited capacity.

They are beautiful looking sticks, they have a great balance, they have a good weight in hand and they have good sounding tip on most of my cymbals, they are a bit too slippery in my older hands and feel like they may fly out at times... so that is my only negative comment on these sticks.

killer looking sticks. Got them for commemorative reasons. Likely won't use them so they don't get destroyed.

I will not be using these sticks, but wanted them as a 400th anniversary keepsake.
