I purchased the Tour Custom drum set about three years ago, I was looking for the maple drum sound found in the Yamaha line up. Known for the warm tones and decay they are a perfect gig kit for the working drummer. Top of the line hardware, ten lug bass drum has an excellent tuning range. My kit was the 10x7 12x8 14x16 16x22 I added the 12x14 to the mix. I ordered the 5.5x14 matching snare. I changed all of the heads to Evans bottoms are G1 & tops are coated G2. The tuning range is fantastic and the toms deliver an excellent tone with cutting power. The shorter decay gives them a warm feel with big bottom ends on the bass and floor toms. The snare is far about the intermediate class and the price falls into the very affordable category. Great snare feel and the inverted hoops take make it a beautiful live show right with excellent decay. The snare is master class and using all high end parts I highly recommend this over the much more expensive recording customs. I bought the second one to use with my 7 peice stage customs. I give this snare a 10 in all the boxes

the past 6 months I wanted to upgrade my snare.I read reviews & watched YouTube videos. Guitar Center They had a vast array of snares & manufactured so I started looking at the metal & wood snares. I bought the Tour Custom I'm so happy I bought it 100% satisfied I recommend it.

How do I know? I'm back in my band's good graces with the Yamaha Tour Custom Maple. Once you find the tone you want, fine tune the snare wire from BOTH sides. The stock head is actually decent. Perfect snare, durable so far, too.
Awesome snare drum.

Being used at a home studio, will be used as a gigging drum in the near future. Super light weight with a huge warm sound

i am interested in purchasing this blemished yamaha snare drum. can I get some more info, as to how blemished it might be, and where it is coming from. also, what size and color. thanks. Blemished Yamaha Tour Custom Maple Snare Drum Item #: L47516005904008
I’m sorry, we don’t know what the blemish is. The blemishes will be perhaps minor scratches, average handling wear. There will be no effect on playability or sound.
