Quality Wood and Components That Deliver
The Tour Custom Maple 4-piece shell pack includes 10” and 12” mounted toms, 16” floor tom, and 22” kick drum. These six-ply, all-maple shells are a thin 5.6 mm and have bearing edges of 45°, keeping the drums tones bright and full of attack. Yamaha’s exclusive diagonally placed seam construct maintains the rounded shape of the drums, for longevity and durability. The 22” bass drum presents a warm but pointed attack that truly speaks on stage or in the studio. The Tour Custom is outfitted with Remo UT drum heads, providing a studio-quality tone, right out of the box.
Classic Features on a Modern Kit
The Tour Custom Maple features classic staples from Yamaha’s award-winning Absolute series—single-post lugs and YESS tom mounts, increasing depth and tuning range. Single-post lugs enhance sustain but also give Yamaha drums a distinct look that set their drums apart from the rest. Rounded, 2.3 mm Dyna-Hoops sharpen tone and balance tuning, delivering enhanced recording-grade tones, all while protecting drum sticks.
Studio and Tour Ready
The Tour Maple Custom presents studio-quality drum tones that can work for any music genre. The 4-piece shell pack not only delivers professional-grade sound but is built to endure the rigors of daily setup and transport. The Tour Custom kit features a striking satin finish that shines brilliantly under stage lights. Now available at Guitar Center, get your Yamaha Tour Custom Maple 4-piece shell pack today.

Pro drums at a reasonable price

I was in need of a versatile set of drums to use live and in recording sessions. As a working musician, cost certainly factored in, and I was impressed with the build quality of these drums considering the middle-quality price. I have used my fusion size set on rock gigs in theaters, bars, and at outdoor park concerts. I have also used it to record with several rock and pop bands. They record as you'd expect from good tuning and maple shells, with a controlled sound with overtones slightly tapered due to the bearing edges and the inverse hoops. East tuning, and the toms hold their tuning well, certainly long enough to make it through a long gig. Live, the maple shells, while thinner than some, have a bright sound that can carry outdoors. I've owned several high end DW and Gretsch kits over the years. This is my first set of Yamaha drums and I honestly feel they are comparable to any of those more high priced drums. I am supremely happy with these drums. Bonus- they are lighter weight, and it really saves the back! I do wish the bass drums legs were of the same style as the hybrid maple or live custom, but I've also had no issues with the standard legs so far, so this is a minor "issue". I do love the bass drum mounting system for the rack toms. More drum companies should offer this, it just makes so much sense and honestly, doesn't compromise the sound of the toms or the bass drum. Get these drums, you won't regret it!

I use my kit for everything when I have one; playing live, rehearsals, etc. and I have found this kit is perfect for that. It tunes well, plays nice, looks great, and has all the features I wanted, included an all maple shell. If there's anything I could change, it would probably be the single ply remo heads that come on the top and bottom... I think a nice double ply head might have been better, but I was happy that they used USA remo heads instead of the Chinese UT style. I rated the kit at 4 stars primarily because I feel it's a bit overpriced for what it is... in essence it's a souped up maple stage custom birch... but in my book, that's all ya need! The matching snare I purchased separately and it goes great with the kit as well.

the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Remo clear ambassador batter heads.I am not a big fan of single ply batter heads. I immediately changed the batter heads to Remo ebony pinstripes for a warmer, punchier sound with less ring

I am just about ready to pull the trigger on this kit. I will be trading in a 7pc Stage Custom shell pack. Before I pull the trigger I need a quote for the additional toms. How much is a: (a) 8" hanging tom? (b) 14" hanging tom? (c) 14" floor tom? When I place the order I will be adding at least one if not both sizes (which on the 14" depends on price and floor space). Please provide item / part numbers as well. Shannon
