A versatile boutique looking bass that sounds great!

I'm basically retired from the gigging business and wanted to get back to a natural wood bass. I have the natural satin model, which is stunning, but not overly flashy...just a beautiful looking combo of woods.. The flamed maple cap looks awesome on the alder body, and yes, it's a true cap, not a thin veneer that you'll find on most basses in this price range or just below. This bass is light, thank goodness, fast action neck, and the electronics are first rate. This is my first bass with the active/passive switch, and man, do I ever like that set-up! Really offers a boatload of versatility with sounds. I have a Rumble 500 amp, and this bass just cranks with it! I believe this came with D'Addario XL 170's, which are snappy, but a bit harsh on the fingers, imo. So, I had some of the Dunlop Hybrids put on.
Maybe the best guitar that I have ever purchased by far.

The bass, right out of the box with no additional setup, plays beautifully. The only instrument that I have that is of similar quality is my Taylor. Way better quality than my Gibson or Fender guitars. It is definitely the most beautiful guitar that I have ever owned.
Fun to play. Killer look! Active pre-amp fail.

I've had mine for 1 year so far. Very nice. I have the natural wood looking style, which gets compliments all the time for musicians. The neck is smooth, easy to play. Sounds great. Down side is the active pre-amp drains batteries too fast. Even when set in passive, the battery will drain if it is plugged into an amp (even with the amp off). It will eat a 9V over night. So with that said, I never use the active setting, I just leave it in passive mode. You'd be better off getting a pre-amp pedal if you want that functionality.
This bass is awesome; versatile and fun

It's been fun getting back into playing bass with this instrument. I love that I can go from playing disco to rock to hip hop lines and manage to get the tone I need for each song.

How much does it weigh?
All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8.5 - 9.0 lbssubmitted5 years ago
