Yamaha's take on the classic semi-hollow double-cutaway, the SA2200 semi-hollow electric gutiar features dual Alnico V humbuckers for articulate, warm tone, and a laminated sycamore top and laminated sycamore body with a soft maple center block for a touch of brightness. The tonal versatility is increased by push/pull coil splits for spanky single-coil tones. Gotoh tuners and tune-o-matic bridge make for solid, stable performance. A case is sold separately.

Just bought this amazing guitar after months if research and trials. After comparing it to Gibson and Epi ES 335 and Ibanez equivalents the Yamaha stands out with its quality, build and sound. True work horse for jazz, blues and even high gain riffs

I've had multiple Gibson ES-335's. Reviewers compare this to the ES-335. It's a beautiful, well made guitar. However, the pickups are far too bright and sounded "tinny" to my ears. Too bad for me. I'm sure other people will absolutely love it for what it is.

I jam with local musicians - playing anything from country rock to 60s music to singer-songwriter stuff. My personal taste runs from Beatles to rockabilly and British blues. This guitar gives such a broad range of tones. I especially like the push-pull coil split. I can get the sound of a Casino (in a better-crafted guitar), I can go jangly for old Byrds or Petty; or I can fatten it up for some vintage Gibson-Clapton tones. Turn it up, add overdrive and these pickups have sharp teeth. I don't understand why every guitarist doesn't own one.

This is over all a wonderful example of a ES335 copy. Fit and finish is easily as good as any Gibson I've ever owned, however. The plating on the bridge and pickup is horrible. I have guitars costing much less that the 'gold' plating still looks great on. Only a few months into ownership, the guitar looked like it had a disease. I contacted Guitar Center and Yamaha and they both told me 'tough luck'. It is clearly a flaw in the plating process, but neither the manufacturer or retailer are willing to do anything about it. I therefore don't gig with it. I'll be darned if I want to promote a product that looks this bad and has no support.

I'm not giging at the moment but once things get better with the pandemic. In will definitely be using it on gigs. I am recording with though.

I’m sorry, we don’t know what the blemish is. The blemishes will be perhaps minor scratches, average handling wear. There will be no effect on playability or sound. Open-Box items have been returned to our distribution center under the Guitar Center Return Policy. They are in 'Blemished' condition if they are removed from the factory packaging and show cosmetic signs of use.
