If you are looking for the vintage sound of a marching snare the SPL Standard Series is ideal.
Choose one of two sizes – 13″x11″ or 14″x12″ – in either Midnight Black or Pearl White finish.
These versatile snares feature 7-ply basswood shells, triple flange powder-coated hoops and traditional chrome-plated single-lug style hardware, plus a new heavy-duty forward throw-off and cast but end.

I use this marching snare in my high school alumni band. I perfer the loud snare sound vs the expensive high tenson kevlar head tight sound. Better sounding then the standard Ludwick snare that I played many years ago in high school. Beautiful black Drum.
