Seymour Duncan

collapse expand iconDescription

The YJM Fury Stack hum-canceling single-coil-sized pickup is based on Seymour Duncan's original Stack pickup design. The neck pickup balances Yngwie's fluid left-hand technique with his broad mix of right-hand pick attack for a tone that's sweet and fluid, but with great articulation and responsiveness to dynamics. It's recommended for rock, neo-classical, shred, hard rock, power metal and heavy metal.

The YJM Fury will directly retrofit most single-coil equipped guitars. Though originally designed for a Fender Strat with a scalloped maple fingerboard, the YJM Fury will work well with any bolt-on guitar that utilizes traditional single-coil-size Strat pickups. The YJM Fury is the same pickup that Fender installs in their YJM Strat guitars.

Great pickup for the neck position on a Stratocaster. The treble is backed off, for a very mellow, fluid tone. Picking and legato techniques are very balanced. This pickup sounds great with a clean tone, with a sound very suitable for jazz playing.

Love this pick up. it's all as described: articulated, fluid, and it still retains some of the woody neck position strat sounds. It's like a single coil on steroids. Good for super fast runs (doesn't get muddy), big single note leads (it sustains great), chord arpegios, and sweeps. That only thing is that you may have to fiddle around with yuor amp to get a good strumming sound out of it. I found it's a great lead pick up but for chord strumming it too thick (good for power chords tho'). Over all, it's just what I wanted.
