Marshall

The Marshall 1959HW Handwired Plexi Head is a meticulous reissue of Marshall's legendary 100-watt Super Lead heads from the late 1960s that defined the sound of rock. Handwired for authenticity, this all-tube head delivers the full-throttle tone, touch sensitivity and headroom that made the original Plexi amplifiers iconic. Whether you want to achieve Hendrix's searing lead tones or Clapton's woman tone, the 1959HW provides a portal to that hallowed era of rock history.

Handwired Circuitry for Vintage-Accurate Tone

Marshall hand wired the 1959HW's circuitry to precisely match the construction of original late-'60s Plexi heads, using tag boards and lead dress for the warmest, most dynamically responsive tone. The transformers are custom-made to the original specifications for authentic power and output. The result is the harmonically rich, chest-thumping tone that defined rock—loud, proud and articulate.

High- and Low-Sensitivity Inputs for Any Guitar

The 1959HW features high- and low-sensitivity inputs on each of its two channels to accommodate any guitar's pickups. The high-sensitivity inputs overdrive earlier for a raunchier rock tone, while the low-sensitivity inputs have more headroom for a cleaner sound with single-coil pickups or when using pedals. You get the best of both worlds in one iconic amp.

Speaker Outputs for Extension Cabinets

Two 8-ohm speaker outputs on the 1959HW allow you to connect one or two 4x12 extension cabinets for a wall of sound. The 1959HW pumps 100 deafening watts of power through its own speakers as is, but the extension outputs give you the flexibility to tailor your rig to any venue or music style.

Iconic Style

With its gold Plexiglas front and back panels, diamond grille cloth and vintage-style control panel, the 1959HW looks every bit as iconic as it sounds. From its white Marshall script logo to its salt-and-pepper Tolex covering, the 1959HW is a tribute to rock history that you'll proudly display on any stage.

I have many Marshall heads but this is the one. Imitated but never replicated. If you want raw @#$%^& power this delivers. The sound that started it all.

I've been playing since age 6, I'm 52 now..I've played through the original 1959 Plexis; this monster plays as advertised. It actually sounds better than the 59s w/printed circuits. Great assertive tone, tight crunch and yes..that classic Marshall roar--just like the originals. If you want the ultimate guitar head/stack..this is it!! If one is in the market for a top-end amp, look no further! Others may claim "British Roar", but the Marshall 1959HW Plexi delivers!
