Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

The Ibanez SR300E 4-string electric bass combines high-end features with an entry-level price tag. Ibanez's iconic SR series has provided bassists a lightweight, fast-playing alternative and the SR300E continues this tradition. Its sleek 5-piece maple and walnut SR4 neck, and contoured mahogany body, provide comfort and playability, while Ibanez PowerSpan humbucking pickups deliver a punchy, articulate tone. A 3-band EQ with Power Tap switch offers a variety of useful sounds. Whether you're a beginner seeking an affordable, quality instrument or an experienced player in need of a solid backup bass, the SR300E delivers premium performance at an unbeatable value.

Fast, Comfortable Neck and Body

The SR300E's 5-piece SR4 maple and walnut neck and arched nyatoh body provide a lightweight, ergonomic feel that allows for speedy playing across all 24 medium frets. Its deep cutaway gives access to higher frets, expanding the instrument's tonal range. An Accu-cast B120 bridge precisely transfers string vibrations for optimal sustain and intonation.

Powerful, Versatile Electronics

The SR300E has two Ibanez PowerSpan humbucking pickups that provide full, articulate tone with clarity and punch. A 3-way Power Tap switch selects between a rich humbucker sound, a pure single-coil tone or a fattened single-coil voice enriched by the humbucker's low end. An Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ with sweepable midrange allows you to shape your tone with precision.

Premium Styling at an Affordable Price

Despite its budget-friendly price, the SR300E exudes a professional aesthetic with its immaculately finished nyatoh body, jatoba fretboard with white dot inlays and cosmo black hardware. Combined with its impressive specs, the SR300E proves that Ibanez didn't sacrifice excellence to deliver an affordable, value-packed bass. For bassists seeking premium design and performance on a limited budget, the SR300E is an unparalleled choice.

I would buy again

Lightweight, thin neck and great action. I switched to flat wound strings and got that smooth feel and big bottom I wanted. Played right out of the box at an outdoor gig and delivered - I had to retune in between songs, but expected with a new instrument and hot, humid outdoor rock show. Solid value and quality for the money.

Horrible Quality, Great Sound

I use this bass all of the time as it's my only electric bass. It served me very well up until the neck started to need some work. When I was about to adjust the neck, I looked at the truss rod socket and it was extremely stripped looking. Bass eventually started to get worse and worse (as instruments do). I attempted to set it up, but when I was trying to adjust the truss rod, it started pulling out with the wrench (4mm). I don't know why that's happening, but I would not recommend this bass to anyone as it plays well for roughly 4 months and then needs a setup which is impossible to perform on this bass.

I mostly just use it for home studio recordings. It sounds and plays equally good. I love the rounded edges but I would have preferred a solid black color without the metal flake look.

This is the 4th Ibanez bass I've purchased. And the reason is because they make good bass guitars.

  • Ibanez makes a great cheap bass

Ibanez is one of the very few companies that makes an extremely affordable quality bass. I've played Fenders that cost 10x more that don't play as nice as this bass. I would prefer some different color options but for the price you can't go wrong. Ibanez necks are super comfortable and make faster playing so much easier. Their active EQ system is superior to all other brands that allows you to dial in on that specific sound you want. You won't be disappointed.

Still pretty new to bass guitars, but from my understanding active guitars need the 9v battery. But the picture on this guitar show a battery compartment but the description says passive. So why does this guitar need a battery?

What scale is this bass? I am only wondering because I'm used to playing medium scale basses and it does not say what scale this bass is. If it's a full scale I'll use it and get used to it.
