If you have a high quality acoustic or vintage guitar, you owe it to yourself to hear the difference a TUSQ nut will make. Compared to standard materials, you'll hear crystal clear bell-like high end, big open lows, and a noticeable increase in overall sustain.

TUSQ nuts are designed to transfer the right frequencies more efficiently from the string to the guitar body, and have been proven to increase a guitar's harmonic sustain. Acoustic guitars come alive with delicate highs and big open lows!

TUSQ is far superior in sound and appearance to synthetics such as Micarta and Corian. The high levels of heat and pressure used in making TUSQ results in its exotic ivory-like appearance.

Join those who know great guitar tone! TUSQ is used by: Martin, Taylor, Larrivee, Gibson Acoustic Guitars, Tacoma Guitars, Ovation, Rick Turner, Garrison Guitars, Breedlove, Manuel Rodriguez, Rainsong, Carvin, Landola and many, many more.

TUSQ has quickly become an important tone performance tool for many guitar manufacturers, luthiers and playing professionals around the world.

Bone and ivory have hard and soft spots (grain), throughout each piece, hampering consistent transfer of vibrations to the guitar top.

TUSQ nuts have rich tone and sustain, without the inconsistency found in ivory, bone and other natural materials.

I ordered this to fit a Martin guitar - checked all the dimensions to make sure it fit. It came with a bade angle that was for a head stock that was at an extreme angle. I had to flatten that out and when I got close to the height i wanted, I noticed the nut was too thin, leaving a gap. I thought I could make this work, but ended up throwing it away.

  • Disappointed it was not a direct replacement

Didn't have one in stock at either of the two local stores Omaha and Lincoln so ordered off the website. It wasn't the same size as the one I took off and expected. Too tall and too thick. Had to do a lot of sanding to make it fit. Disappointed as I just wanted a direct replacement.

I ordered this for a 1999 Martin D-28. The bottom of this nut is angled for pre-1990 Martin's. I expected to sand it down to size anyway so that was no surprise. It's a little thinner than the nut slot on my guitar but that allowed it to slide in easy. It's a little bit narrower so the angle on the side is not quite right. But the biggest problem is the string slots are TOO CLOSE TOGETHER E to e was only about 1 3/8". It should be 1 7/16". I had to sand the top completely down and cut my own slots.
