Great pickups, bad pickguard

The pickups and electronics are top notch. I know this is a low end set up, but the Tex Mex singles sound ireally good. It is also a breeze to install. However, after installing them, I noticed that the pickguard itself was badly warped near the volume and tone controls. The screw holes lined up perfectly and all the wiring was tucked neatly into the cavity, so I know there was nothing preventing it from seating flush against the body. There was a gap wide enough to slide a couple of thick picks between the guard and the body. I ending up returning it. Otherwise, it's a great modification to your guitar. Just be sure to check for warpage.
Great parts, great service.

I have a Starcaster I use for church worship music. I rebuilt it with Strat pickups, switch, pots and tuners. What a great improvement.
Excellent upgrade, and easy install

The natural sound of my Strat was not coming through the stock pickups, I have been considering some changes to the pickups, so I decided to go with this pre-wired pick guard and pickups. Installation was very easy, and I am not the greatest with a soldering iron. I am very happy with the results. The Fender Tex-Mex pickups are a huge upgrade.
A good choice, especially for the price

I've been looking at an inexpensive way to upgrade my squire to get more joy out of it and wow did theseTex mex pickups blow me away! They were easy to install which was a big plus since I have no experience with soldering. I was playing and smiling within minutes of plugging in the guitar.

I own a Squier Bullet Strat, Indo made, purchased new in 2014. Are the pots & wiring in this pick guard better quality than what were used in my guitar? Im trying to decide if I should just buy the pickups separately.
1) Yes. What does that tell you? Wire is wire. The pots don't determine sound. Think about just the pups.submitted2 years ago
