Overview

One of the most-beloved small combo amps in the world, the Fender Blues Junior IV adds modified preamp circuitry, smoother-sounding spring reverb and improved aesthetics that any player is sure to appreciate. A 15-watt favorite in any setting, this amp is ideal for guitarists who need to hit the stage or studio at a moment's notice with warm tone and versatile features.

The Blues Junior IV includes a 12 in. Celestion A-Type speaker for well-balanced output with smooth highs, laidback midrange and full, round lows. Over 40 years experience playing all the usual rock, blues, jazz, country etc. Owned everything from Marshall, Orange, Peavey, Randall, Crate, Vox, MANY fenders included an original '65 Super Reverb. For what I play and the sound I want to rehearse, write and just soak in THAT sound this is it in a small package. Yeah I cant get better tones thru a back breaking stack or miked and tweaked to sterile death thru the board etc. But for what its designed to do, in a 15 watt (sounds like 20+) this is the sweet overdrive w/natural tube compression that is missing from all the fizzy, farty ice pick to screeching clunkers out there I have either owned or demo. Yeah I have a Junior III, heavily modded with the BLM mods and is great but is a one trick pony. Overdrive is not good for my tastes the way the upper mids are voiced. This amp is voiced very balanced and smooth with a bit of a sweet upper mid growl is how I would describe the sound. And btw, thanks fender for fixed the clanky reverb in the III models. I have over a dozen amps and this is the one I grab 1st every time I just want to play and soak in the sound. Took 40 yrs to find it. Good Job Fender!!!!!

Well I have read all the reviews and I must say that this amp is really not so good. It feels cheep and the sound is poor. I have gone threw a lot of amps trying to find the one that fits for me. From marshall code to mustang gt. From prinston (I regret selling) to hot rod deluxe iv. All of these amps were better than the BJ iv. BUT!!
I took it back and got the BJ tweed NOS.. AMAZING AMPLIFIER!! Not sure if it's the Jensen speaker or what.. but I would suggest going that route. The reverb is very nice as well.
Thank you so much to Nic at guitar center SLC for the over the top customer service!

    Nice Upgrade

    By MICHAEL

Comments about Fender Blues Junior IV 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I had a Blues Jr. III that I sold to get the new upgraded IV and I'm glad I did. The Celestian A type speaker is full of character and sounds great across a range of volumes from quiet to cranked. The reverb has been toned down quite a bit and is more useable. On the Blues Jr. III, the reverb was so overwhelming past 3 or 4. The new version can be used on any setting now to suit my needs. The tone controls also seem to have more of a noticeable impact and are more functional than the previous version. The cosmetic changes are subtle, but look great. I dig the vintage look of the wheat grill cloth, the cream colored control knobs and the textured control plate. The handle seems more durable too. Fender did a sensible and nice upgrade to an already great amp and now it's even better in my opinion.

Comments about Fender Blues Junior IV 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

The Blues Jr IV is an incredible sounding amp right out of the box.I still have a original Blues JR I that I never used or could sell and was underwhelming even with the fat switch on.The new Blues Jr has great boost now and real reverb. My new Gibson ES 335 Dot sounds incredible through this amplifier and you have great sound and tone at low volume.I don't miss my Marshall TSL at all.

Comments about Fender Blues Junior IV 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I purchased the Blues Junior to replace my Fender The Twin, which I had since 1989. I bought the Blues Junior based on a recommendation..I have only played it in my apartment and love the quality of sound it produces. Great amp for the money.

          Honestly Version 3 is better

          By Ron

          from Warren Ohio

Comments about Fender Blues Junior IV 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier:

Verizon 3 has better low end. But in version 4 there is almost none. Bass is non existent. Why Fender? Why? Why mess up a good thing and charge more? Oh wait because you added pine instead of ply? Seriously? This little wanna be Blues Junior is going back to Guitar Center asap!
